Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Average poor average
They were all equally as poor....Why single out roberts?
To be fair to Wilson he was way more effective coming in from wide left second half than Roberts was first. Le Fe linked play much better than Roberts last night.
Same as Roberts when he went on the right but wilson won't track back.....

I agree with you, is just the op, hasn't a clue about football.....

He gets past his man like a magician but then he thinks I'll keep on going it till a space opens up. He just needs to cross or shoot when he gets past his man!

Roberts is 28ish now and should be at his peak for his position. We cant afford sentiment , time to move him on best for both sides.

Roberts was very poor tonight. He can beat his man on the dribble but has no clue what to do next, almost always gives away possession cheaply, either by taking on 2 or more additional defenders after beating the first man or with a terrible pass. I hope we find a good buyer for him before the window closes, nowhere near good enough at this level IMO.

In the stadium it seemed loads couldn't wait to have a go at him as soon as he got the ball, almost willing him to lose it, pathetic.

Thought he went on some brilliant runs and looked our best player. End product is of course the problem but tonight he also pulled some nice balls back across the box and could feel aggrieved no one was on the end of them.
Most our better play went through him. I thought he was decent in the 2nd half. No coincidence that he looked better as we gave him options. The young lad at RB was getting beyond him and Rigg played close to him. The way we set up has a massive impact on his game. Play with a higher tempo and with options and he’s fine. Play that one paced shite that we often do he looks awful. As will our new wingers without any support or allowing teams to set their block.

Out of the midfield and forwards he was nowhere near the worst. Neil & Rigg dear me. Could have worst wingers as back up for a prem side. Quite happy with Roberts coming on to impact a game.
We are probably busting a bollock to get another winger....God I hope so.

I was there and I thought he was incredibly frustrating. Forget the first half he clearly didn’t suit wide left. But the amount of opportunities he wasted second half was not good enough. He lost the ball a number of times trying to beat too many defenders. He managed one excellent cross that Geue should have headed in . But too many times his final ball unerringly went straight to a Huddersfield player. Remember he was playing against Lge1 opposition. I honestly would be happy if we offloaded him before the window shuts as long as we sign another winger.
Our lass who’s been to like four games said to me why does he run down alleys all the time. 😂 He’s one of her favourite players too. I guess it’s why we got him as a league one side. If he had end product he’d be at the top. It’s just frustrating sometimes he takes on one too many and runs himself into trouble.

But he doesn’t impact?!

nowhere near good enough to be coming off the bench.. and that can be said for most of them.

He didn’t even impact the game against Huddersfield.
We’re desperate for more forward players. The creativity in this team is non existent which is what it was like last near the end of last year.

We need some wingers who are pacey, direct and can cross the ball by getting down the line
