It makes sense to have planning permission in place 'in case' which is all i think this is.
I had a brief look at the plans and it looks like it's essentially a copy of the north stand extension? While that would be fine, I think it would be interesting to explore the possibility of something more ambitious, I.e. a one tier extension of fhe south end so we have a big 'home end' in the mould of Spurs' ground. Plus adding more corporate makes sense if we can establish ourselves in the prem.
Suspect this would be a lot more expensive given how the stadium was designed to accommodate an extension but it would be good to explore.
Im not that bothered about empty seats worry. I think we should build it!
As for the Council, I think the executive have done a v good job of late but fluffed their lines a bit here. I think they'll retreat to the original plan on this one.
