Craft Beer

Aye you've said before, I've sort of seen that angle to some degree. But a really good cask IPA, can't whack it.

Vaux did a recent pale on both. Cask was much better IMO.

It's everything you want from a pub.
Cask is best for any style in my eyes, though I'll admit cask lager isn't the one! Fortunately cask in Manchester is mostly excellent everywhere you go, it's in really good health. Outside of Manchester though I've learned it's always worth asking for a taster just to check it's in good nick. If it's not up to scratch I'll reluctantly go keg.

Just had a few pints in the Arts Centre in Washy. Went last year and it was bang on. Every pint tonight was shite. Double Maxim on the turn so slightly acidic, Landlord slightly oxidised so tasted like cardboard. Guinness poured like it had been dropped off Niagra Falls. Heartbroken.

Felt wrong liking it given the reporting on today but fully agree with everything you say in the first.

@Longy where are you getting these big stouts from? They look like perfection in a glass.
I'm guessing Rehills in Jesmond, but there's a few options online. House of Trembling Madness is one I use a lot. Locally, and often good value but a smaller choice, look at Hops at Home
Pretty sure it was Rehills. Just pop in if I’m passing now.

When I’ve looked online HTM seems to have the best prices like.

Build a box is great. See a few you like the look of, buy now, then add to it over a few weeks to hit the £75 free delivery.

Expecting a few big hitters, beers not just me and @Longy , at the SCBF next Friday anarl
You there Friday anarl?

Looking forward to it. My mates got on the bigg’uns early on last year, which was silly, but made me jealous, so I joined in. Would like a more sensible approach this year.

Good thing about the first session, there was a few beers they ran out of last year I missed out on. Shouldn’t be a problem on Friday 😎
