Craft Beer

 tbf James isn't a recluse. He's just moved his slurping times. We did the same and tbf, even now weve stuck to afternoons/early evenings more so than not.

Think yours is older but different times now where people will happily take babies/young uns into nice little pubs so parents can still get amongst a few.
early 2000s there was certainly no decent watering holes and craft was only really starting to get a foothold. Was stuck with f***ing wacky warehouses and the likes. Spoons with kids in were and still are total hellholes. tbh, we just gave up for a good few years.

roll forward to when we started going out a bit more, and some twat ate a bat in Wuhan, and put paid to that for a bit

Yeah I'd assumed they were a gimmick as well so I've never been bothered, but the Craft Beer Channel recently did a video on the cheap knock off ALDI version of the Fizzics and it piqued my interest:

You must be logged on to see media items

(skip to 11.35 to see what got me interested and to cut through him being a divvy).

I picked up a cheapo Fizzics after that as I thought it had potential. If you aren't that arsed about the type of pour, mouthfeel etc then you'll use it a few times and sell it. If you are, however, a big foam beer weirdo, then they are kinda class.

Basically you put the beer in it, it creates a vacuum and pulls the beer through it, and allows you to push back on the handle to create pure foam. Means you can create really smooth, creamy beers at home. Obviously it can't ever compete with proper kegged beer but it's class that you can put anything into it and make it so much better than simply slamming it into a glass from the bottle. I love it.

 Aye we still get out through the day by he's total carnage now so it's not even worth the hassle going into small venues unless he's asleep. He can't sit still for more than 10 seconds before wanting to run off so we're much more selective about where we go. He'll get better when he can hold his attention beyond the next thing in his eye line.

It has meant that I'm back to valuing the quality of drink at home as I'm probably only having 3/4 a weekend. Great that this Fizzics has enhanced those beers which is why I'm a huge fan. Really looking forward to getting an impy into it but can't be arsed with the fuzzy head it'll give me when I'm up at 5am the next day playing the bongos and throwing plastic eggs around (don't ask).
aye, thats the pattern. more at home, and then the pandemic. Once allowed out, hit the ground running :) gonna have a look at these machines like

Ok lads, I’ve placed an order at Trembling Madness on your recommendation.

9 drinks for just shy of 80 quid. HERE WE GO.
Get them on/reviewed when you are into them.

Gotcha. Cracking when they are having a couple of hours kip and you're just sat nursing a few/steady away.

Indeed. Split for choice now by comparison. I'd have approached it exactly as you did in those days.

How's that for timing ffs  (still, bet you got through a few cans at home!).

I got mine on Vinted like, but there's usually a few on ebay. Most are unused or used once and then sold. Mine came with the original box, warranty etc. Worth keeping an eye on both. You can always resell for about the same price you paid if it ends up collecting dust.

I used to be on Untappd years ago but didn’t really do much with it. I’ll have to see if I’ve got my old details and start up again. I’ll also have to get my head around uploading photos too on here too!

Having a pint of O’Haras Irish Craft Beer. Apparently I’ve checked in a bottle previous & it was canny average. In terms of a Guinness challenger on tap it’s quality like.

They used to turn up in the Beer 52 boxes now and then. Don't remember them being up to much.
