Big Mouth was better on cask. I was very surprised.

Got a can in the fridge
I think decadent is a good word to describe it. It’s class, but in small doses.I love that one.
Cask is best for any style in my eyes, though I'll admit cask lager isn't the one! Fortunately cask in Manchester is mostly excellent everywhere you go, it's in really good health. Outside of Manchester though I've learned it's always worth asking for a taster just to check it's in good nick. If it's not up to scratch I'll reluctantly go keg.Aye you've said before, I've sort of seen that angle to some degree. But a really good cask IPA, can't whack it.
Vaux did a recent pale on both. Cask was much better IMO.
It's everything you want from a pub.
Felt wrong liking it given the reporting on today but fully agree with everything you say in the first.Cask is best for any style in my eyes, though I'll admit cask lager isn't the one! Just had a few pints in the Arts Centre in Washy. Went last year and it was bang on. Every pint tonight was shite. Double Maxim on the turn so slightly acidic, Landlord slightly oxidised so tasted like cardboard. Guinness poured like it had been dropped off Niagra Falls. Heartbroken.
Yeah the vault city one. Decadent is the word for it. I only had a third of it which I shared with the missus and that was enoughI think decadent is a good word to describe it. It’s class, but in small doses.

You can get a cheap gold label barley wine in supermarkets. Might be called gold label actually. It’s not good, but it’s not terrible eitherHa, remember mixing bottles of barley wine with bottles of double maxim, when i was a youngun, used to knock ya socks off...![]()
@Longy where are you getting these big stouts from? They look like perfection in a glass.
The likes of Rehills and the odd supermarket. I tend to order direct from the brewers and Trembling Madness and Leftfield beer too.@Longy where are you getting these big stouts from? They look like perfection in a glass.

Pretty sure it was Rehills. Just pop in if I’m passing now.I'm guessing Rehills in Jesmond, but there's a few options online. House of Trembling Madness is one I use a lot. Locally, and often good value but a smaller choice, look at Hops at Home
Scrolling down the last two pages, green with envy. Amazing stuff!Pretty sure it was Rehills. Just pop in if I’m passing now.
When I’ve looked online HTM seems to have the best prices like.
Where from? It was sold out on VC website last week.Just ordered a VC pistachio off the back of the recent chat.
