Forthcoming gigs.

Arab Strap this Saturday Rescue Rooms in Nottm. Like a few of their tunes but not sure what to expect live, anyone seen them lately?
Last year at firestation it was almost all from the two latest albums. This week at boiler shop they pulled a few more older tunes in.
Both times were great. The standout for me this week was either girls of summer or turning of our bones, both excellent

Stuff I’m most excited to see:
  • Los Campesinos!
  • WH Lung
  • Mike
  • Wunderhorse
  • Jasmine 4.t
  • MJ Lenderman (saw recently and he was magnificent)
  • caroline
  • Underworld (although this provides a massive clash with English Teacher and Richard Dawson)
  • Divorce

Will check Big Special and Naima Bock at your recs
Was on me way to watch Mike but went via Round The Twist and saw a 'Secret Set' advertised at 6, but the few people hanging about didn't know who it was. Then there was a fairly sudden influx of younger folk and I saw Hester from Wet Leg chatting outside so thought it might be them, which it was. Absolutely rammed and steaming hot, but they were worth it. Off to watch them again in a couple of hours. Wunderhorse first though.

When I finally got to Far Out, Mike was playing to the smallest crowd I've ever seen in there!

Enjoyed the Dead Daisies. They are always good value. Bloody loud mind and at times not sure about the NX Arena from an acoustics point of view.

It was a tough choice for me. I`ve seen the Dead Daisies a fair few times going back to when they had Jon Stevens on vocals and just saw them last year so I opted for forer Grand Prix/McAuley Schenker Group frontman, Robin McAuley, instead and what a singer. Best Rock singer I`ve seen live in ages and his voice left most of his 80`s peers in the dust.

Think I’m going to do this thing at Keel Sq on Thursday with Du Blonde. After that I’ve bought tickets for Pork Pie at the Navy Club when I was pissed. Then Charlie & the Bhoys at the Irish Centre. Then Dave Stewart does Dylan at the Fire Station.
