Jealousy from other clubs about safc being trendy now

Let’s not get carried away - it will be a tough season with survival the aim.

If we are 17th when all is said and done it will be a huge achievement and can set us up for years to come.
It will be our best season expectation wise since ... er ... last season and a distant joint second to 1972-73.

Wouldn’t it be just fantastic if their ownership, with unlimited cash, proves a massive hinderance to signing anyone decent and they become known as the club not to go to due to their owners actions. We live in hope…
They've won a trophy and players still want away like isak...they are rich but never elite. We have as much chance as them now to become attractive to players

I'm trying not to pay too much attention to all the speculation and exaggeration from our own fans never mind the addled ramblings of Skunks, Boro & Saviles.

I'm hugely encouraged by what is happening at our club.
Remember the last summer window we were in the PL?

I'll settle for no less than a European spot. There is no reason why we shouldn't be competitive first season if we sign about 8-9 players. The premierPremier League is a lot more competitive these days since the spending restrictions, no team is guaranteed a European spot these days, just look at spurs and man utd.

This is our time, lifetimes of mediocrity and bad luck is over, the lord has spoken and he says good news! The players should be going into with my attitude, not one of merely survival.

Wackyoro 😂….. we should just enjoy the journey and stick by the lads, they are exciting times.
Reality check West Ham are favourites to win our first game. Bucking the odds will be quite an achievement, and Iam going to shout myself horse to help them

We are a pathway to the prem and its riches, we know our place. Mags are just delusional that any player joins them as the ultimate destination

I highly doubt the mags are jealous of safc having just won the league cup and qualified for Europe

Cos we're cool as fuck 😎

My expectations are 17th this year - it is a tough league to get in to, let alone stay. The signings we are making, I am hoping will get us that as a minimum, but if we do get relegated, then that they are more than good enough to get us back up first time asking. I am under no delusions of europe, top 10, etc. It is going to be tough. We are going to get depressed, more than likely in December... apart from the 13th when we whip the mags 😏. But if we finish 17th and stop up, then we are already doing better than every other promoted team in the last 3(?) years. Then next season we build for higher place finish.

It’s exciting and dizzying for us given the past decade. Really exciting in fact that we aren’t just looking to go up, pocket the cash and accept our fate as a bottom three side. We’re clearly trying to properly compete.

But being a bottom three side is still highly possible and whether we are ‘trendy’ or not is both debatable and completely irrelevant. There are still at least 17 clubs in the division that are better placed than us and none of those would swap their squads for ours.

Let’s not start dick waving just yet.

The gulf is so big that it’s hard to get carried away, and by that I mean thinking we can actually survive.

But let’s also face it, if we want to be cautiously optimistic we can’t ignore Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton, Wolves & Fulham have all went up “fairly recently” and established themselves. Plenty more have failed but it’s clearly & absolutely possible to go up and land.

It’s conceivable we could even be decent and a shock, but I think the vast vast majority are still just seeing this activity and pleased we’re actually trying to stay up.

Wow…what a mess. The mags are still doing this shit??
:lol::lol:

I am jealous and i actually hope you do well. So much i dislike about the premier league that i hope teams going up, stay up and keep the hope alive that its not a closed shop it has seemed over the past two seasons.

Leeds can finish rock bottom mind.

Im feeling slightly more optimistic about our hopes this season. Was on the fence about Edwards, watched a couple of scripted interviews and typical fickle football fan fashion i have folded. Full of hope again. I hope the next time we meet is a premier league fixture.
