Boro thread

No.
You're so desperate.to be hated.

Your promotion was well deserved.
But, folk go on on here as if you're Man City.
The cockiness is a bit silly - seeing as you haven't even kicked off next season yet.

No, more a jibe at the salty response you gave earlier. We are fully aware this season will be a struggle to survive at best.

Your responses however do seem suggest there is a little envy from your end as to how this season has went for us.

Of course it's cockiness.
A few people on a message board went on like you say (I wasn't one of em btw).
Albeit it ended with your promotion , but the season just gone is the first season in eight? years that you've finished above us, yet you lot (easy to generalise isn't it?) go on as if you 've left us behind, whilst a fair few are already calling the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford 'tinpot'.

And the 'we will stay up' is a tad premature really.
You may well stay up, but equally you could be marooned at the bottom by Christmas - possibly with us poised to pass you on the way.

These things have a habit of not lasting forever, as you last relegation from the premier league proved.
Bournemouth and Brentford
ARE tinpot 🤷

Football has a habit of kicking you in the bollocks thus stopped gloating years ago.
One step forward usually is soon followed by two steps back.

In our case feels that it’s never any step forward.
So much going on. Massive fanbase spilt and hoping this nightmare comes to its end.
Hope you are well.
Thanks.
I'm fine - hopefully you are too.

Totally agree with you.
I've never been one to gloat
Clubs good spells (if you're lucky) are just that - spells, (unless you're one of the 'elite'.

Weird though, you get folk moaning about the premier league being a closed shop and the 'big' clubs getting their own way - then when somebody else manages to hold their own in the top flight they're called 'tinpot' and people saying they shouldn't be doing better than others because they don't get big crowds or whatever.

We've completely left you behind mind. We got promoted, you finished 10th. Your side on paper looks poor and I seriously doubt you'll make the play offs next season in a stronger looking league. 3 teams down, plus Sheffield even Brum, Wrexham have cash.

Even if we do come down we'll have parachute money, an excellent scouting network, proven breeding ground for young players and top academy.

A yo yo club perhaps but that will be massive strides ahead of mid table you.

I managed to get £200 on at 11/2, I’ve got it on good authority Rohl is joining us.

All betting on Rohl suspended.
Gunna be expensive for the bookies mind.

Few days we’ll be bringing in some big money signings. Can loan you Browne or Matete if yous are needing to replace Cackney mind.

You'll always get a few fans from every fanbase who only join a particular clubs forum just to act like arseholes because they're just an anonymous person hiding behind a keyboard and when things don't go their way they are never to be seen. Cowards the lot of them.

But as you say unfortunately these type of people give the fanbase of that club a bad name

Giles is an odd one. Obviously he did well last time in term of assists but could he actually defend? Genuine question as I didn't see enough to know.

Nearly every Boro fan could see how Iheanacho was going to go, its mad that Carrick couldn't. As I said, if you can't be arsed to put the effort in at Sevilla you aren't going to do so at Boro, with all due respect.

Its a big summer. An ambitious managerial appointment might get an extra year out of Azaz and Hackney. Crying out for Dieng and van der Berg back, then two decent fullbacks (Enzo retired the ponytailed one), a centre back and a proper goalscorer.
We played a system where our RB Tommy Smith tucked in to play in a back 3 when we had the ball, and Giles was more or less able to play as a winger. He did get exposed defensively but we were scoring enough goals for it not to matter as much.

Definitely going to be a big summer for us regardless of who is appointed. Hackney and Azaz will be sold. No way a Championship club without parachute payments can afford to turn down offers of £20m for our players.
