He's not he's had an ageing squad with practically nothing to spend he's done a good job Carrick failed miserablyThat’s the one. Rohl who we took 6 points off at a canter this year. I hope they get him, be worse than Carrick.![]()
I’m from Stockton and I’ve never really had any bother being a Sunderland fan aside from the usual crack. All my mates mainly are Boro fans. Whenever we play Boro whatever the result we always show our faces after the game and have a pint and just as they take a loss on the chin and front up, so do we.I'm well aware this may not get answered for a while by a smoggie til they win a game and we lose but I've walked roseberry topping this morning (it was not enjoyable) then my mate had a drive around borough and we went to where ayresome park used to be as we both a little too young to have visited anyway came through Stockton on way home just for a drive out and my mate asked do boro fans hate Stockton lads fans like we dee durham mags??
I sit near three lads from Billingham.I’m from Stockton and I’ve never really had any bother being a Sunderland fan aside from the usual crack. All my mates mainly are Boro fans. The issue is, there’s been plenty of Sunderland fans in Stockton / Billingham for years and years and it’s not just a handful. It’s not like it’s a rarity to see a Sunderland fan here whereas Durham mags (although since the takeover there’s more) is / was a bit more of a rarity.
What has always struck me as odd though is that every Sunderland fan I know round here is a match going fan and most do the aways too. In my group of mates who I went to school with there’s 1 or 2 who go to the Riverside, and on top of that, my wider social circle is exactly the same. So many don’t go to the Riverside and it’s always baffled me. Plenty of posting ‘UTB’ on socials but not bothered about going. You go to the pubs on a match day and there’s plenty of Boro lads in there watching the matches on the dodgy sticks but I just always think it’s mad how many choose not to get to the games.
I’ll probably know them mate!I sit near three lads from Billingham.
Gradfather -son -and grandson .
Been going for years .
Did we not once have a Billingham supporters branch walk round the sol a few years back
Was gobsmacked how many there were -think they had walked from Billingham to Sol unless I’m confused ?!( Charity ?)
Of course it's cockiness.
A few people on a message board went on like you say (I wasn't one of em btw).
Albeit it ended with your promotion , but the season just gone is the first season in eight? years that you've finished above us, yet you lot (easy to generalise isn't it?) go on as if you 've left us behind, whilst a fair few are already calling the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford 'tinpot'.
And the 'we will stay up' is a tad premature really.
You may well stay up, but equally you could be marooned at the bottom by Christmas - possibly with us poised to pass you on the way.
These things have a habit of not lasting forever, as you last relegation from the premier league proved.

few people have called those clubs tinpot just like thousands of football fans and most likely boro fans as well. maybe do a tinpot search on your forum? so easy to pick a period where one finished above the other, but look at the whole picture.... in fact, look at SAFC being in 3rd tier and still being more relevant than boro. At our lowest we still pissed on your attendence, we still had much more media coverage, we still were talked about more than you ever will be. So enjoy your what 7 seasons, you deserve it. tinpot boroOf course it's cockiness.

Cheers for that it's nice to read, getting tired of hatred n negativity in the world right now but that's another conversationI’m from Stockton and I’ve never really had any bother being a Sunderland fan aside from the usual crack. One of the best things that ever happened to SAFC was Charlton jacking the Boro in. They were a good team under him and missed out on Europe due to a last kick of the season goal……thankfully. It’s always been like that marra
Seen it with my own eyes too yet when there on a good run
They’ve been to every match the Charlton days![]()
Show meYou have gave it the big one
Show me
Translated as : You can't show me because I don't 'give it the big one'.How when you've locked your profile
Your always making snide remarks
Translated as : You can't show me because I don't 'give it the big one'.
I'm under no illusions about Boro - I've been going to matches for over 50 years so I know only too well what we're like.
All I've said (and still say) is that finishing above us for the first time in 8 years and managing one (deserved admittedly) promotion to the premier league seems to me a tad premature to be 'lording it' about how you're so much better than us.
Especially when our performances over that 50 year period has been similar (both had ups and downs), and you haven't even kicked off in the premier league yet.
Easy to accuse me of 'snide' remarks - more to do with the fact that I notice a lot of your supporters go on exactly what your support slag Newcastle fans off for.
Makes two of usTranslated as I hide my profile as I talk shite all the time and dont want to be exposed.
Didn't even read your essay I dont care![]()
Makes two of us
we have won 6 league titles and 2 fa cups man. just start from the beginning. although we havent been a better team in the last 8 years except maybe 1 or 2 years., we have always been much bigger even in league one.Translated as : You can't show me because I don't 'give it the big one'.
