Sunderland population in 2025 is 349,162
Which includes Washington, Houghton and Hetton. The first two are absolutely rammed full of plastic Mag scum.

It cost £7m and has more than paid for itself and will this season be sold out.And within a few short seasons we had a 48,000 stadium with crowds dropping to as low as 22000
So where’s your source? Sunderland’s population had slightly declined at the last census so such a quick rise seems strange. That’s off 2021

Sir Bob wasn’t daft, perhaps more of our fans should have some of his vision.
45,000 fore one game.He also knew we got up to 35k in Division 3.
Do away fans not pay?Its used by away fans now
Not to forget we had an entire section of our stadium closed for a few seasons
Perhaps more of our fans should turn up for all games rather than just because we are in the Premier League
Hopefully that will changeThe U.K. university sector is shagged so don’t rely on foreign students.
Brentford, Fulham and Brighton are not ‘mickey mouse’ clubs. We have more fans and a bigger ground but they have better players.

I have heard reasoned arguments why we shouldn’t expand but Haway.![]()
Corporate will be sold out, that's what needs to be extended/improved. Thats the revenue stream we need to maximise to really kick on.The reason why we dont expand is because the crowd sizes show it isnt needed
Lest we forget we had a game in 2025 with two sides of the stadium shut off
And we call Newcastle fans "delusional"
Corporate needs adding to East & South Stands, maybe a small increase of capacity to 55,000 and that would be appropriate for a club of our size....Our current capacity will sell out every week in the PL if the club show some ambition, and I'm not talking about competing for the top 4, but just not being there to finish 17th every season
What's wrong with finishing 17th in the Premier League![]()

This I do agree with, which technically is capacity because it counts towards overall crowd and ground capacity. The current corporate capacity is around 2k iirc. I just think until we are consistently selling out the regular seats, there is no point adding any regular seating capacity.Corporate will be sold out, that's what needs to be extended/improved. In division 3, before the stadium was built? I only remember 35k. Notts county maybe.45,000 fore one game
Makes sense, but then other than just adding boxes at the back of the NEC/East Stand, then it'll mean adding more regular seats too.Corporate will be sold out, that's what needs to be extended/improved. Thats the revenue stream we need to maximise to really kick on.

Of course they have. If you’re think there’s no plans drawn up etc then you’re wrong. It wouldn't make any sense financially and the club won't even have gave it a seconds thought.
Is there any evidence?Of course they have. If you’re think there’s no plans drawn up etc then you’re wrong.
Crazy suggestion just to build boxes. It would be interesting to see how they would do it.
Another row of boxes along the back of the East Stand should be under consideration but i wouldn't be in favour of losing regular seats on the back rows to make space.
A mirror image of the Monty stand/ Premier Concourse would solve the issue of limited hospitality but it would also leave us with thousands of extra seats we don't need currently.
If the South Stand is ever extended it should be a single tiered home end so I wouldn't like to see that split in two for corporate reasons.
Aye mate got the plans hereIs there any evidence?

There’s plans tho

Coventry home showed that to me there’s no better ground in the country when it’s packed and rocking like that, so I’d rather we focused on filling what we’ve got regularly and working on the atmosphere rather than add more seats that apart from one off occasions won’t be filled unless we became a decent side. Let’s hope we do, but take small steps at a time.
