I think Kieran Maguire estimated it perhaps at 40-60 if I remember rightly based on usual business models. Serena Williams husband who owns Reddit(?) just bought £20m of shares in the company who own the women’s team at a percentage to seem to indicate the women’s team is worth £240m however on the price of football podcast they seemed suspicious of this and perhaps this was to get past the more thorough UEFA scrutiny that is coming.
 
Wonder if there’ll be some investment in the concourses etc to increase matchday revenue. Appreciate we’ve been out of the league for a while so corporate appetite hasn’t been there but being outperformed by Palace whose average attendance is 15,000 fewer than ours is nuts.

If we want to match palace for matchday revenue we’d have to pay palace ticket
prices, if we did that 15k would erode rapidly. Fine balancing act to be had. Especially as that is made in 4 less games.
 
Looking at the allowable losses over a rolling 3 year period and PSR scenario, the club I think would have a transfer budget of circa £70m plus any fees received from the existing squad.

Our turnover ending July this year should be around £38m with a slightly reduced loss from last year due to the sale of Clarke. Our turnover for the coming season should result in an Increase of Revenue between £155m to £165m. Our player salaries and those we bring is obviously going to increase by huge proportions but we have significant head room bearing in mind I believe PL player salaries is capped at 85% x turnover.

I think it'll be close to £100m unless they accept that we'll likely go down and rebuild on the foundations we have. £50m unless we luck out and sign some serious gems will not be enough I'm afraid, no where near.

They sold the women's team to basically themselves for £200m or so

You can’t just plonk boxes at the back of the east stand. You need lifts, stairs, toilets, corridors, catering and hospitality areas. You’d have to build outwards.

It’s been said a few times. By the time you do all that you might as well put a stand in.

You could then build more places like Montgomery suite, Quinn’s bar etc.

People are so scared of empty seats they suggest putting boxes at the back of the east stand without thinking about all the support stuff needed and the logistics.

It’s a bit of a mental suggestion.

I've a ManU supporting mate and they're going out if their way to piss off people who've held season tickets for years, often generations, in favour of tourists who come for the day trip. They're currently trying to move ST holders from the Stretford End to create a 'Disneyland' area, "the real match day experience"🙄🙄, for the tourists apparently.

They're not the only ones doing it either as you point out but I dread the thought of OUR club taking a similar route IF we can manage to cement a PL position going forward.

I wouldn’t fear tourist fans pricing us out, in fact we welcome some tourists spending their cash in our club and spreading the word of Sunderland

I never knew any of this. It seemed to me that it would be more cost effective than expanding/building the stadium. I stand corrected. Good to learn something new.

I never suggested it because I'm scared of empty seats. I actually sit in the east stand and would lose my seat, I just thought it would be the most cost effective. Now I know better.

So it would only be £75m in total that would count over the 3 years rolling period at 25m a year. That's why Chelsea spent millions dishing out 8 year contracts as it means less spending and chances are they'd sell players before even having 'fully paid' for them

Spend £200m on 4 players on 4 year contracts then it's just £50m off each year's books for the next 4 years.

That’s why Chelsea cheated plus they just sold off the Chelsea women to a separate company called it a gain. The top of the PL is rigged sorry two set of rules one for the top6 another for the rest.

Fair enough. It would tame a huge amount of work for not much reward.

Thats 40-50m along with the 20m already spent on Enzo, which would bring it up to 60-70m

I'm not really sure why anyone would think we'd spend 100m this summer when that's just not how the board operates. They'll bring in loans with options to buy, and then buy a couple around 10m each, which will be double of the 3/4m's we paying for a player last year.

I'm sure we'd all like them to throw more money about to get some serious quality in, but I doubt the board will change tact. They'll be planning for relegation, along with a small chance of staying up.
