New Music Releases Thread

I enjoyed the solo album from Alex Orange Drink. He is a singer of a NY punk band (The So So Glo's or something). He cowrote quite a lot on the last Bright Eyes album and was featured on one of the songs. Conor Oberst is featured on this one of his too.

He recorded it whilst receiving treatment for cancer and the album cover is a picture of his radiation mask.

On a differnt note, is anyone getting sick of seeing albums they grew up with turning 20 or 30 and feeling ancient?! Demon Days by Gorillaz and Gimme Fiction by Spoon this week. I had the radio on in the Mrs' car earlier and Steady as She Goes came on by The Raconteurs and that's nearly 20 years old too.

Song to me sounds like something that Milburn would have cut from their first album twenty year ago but to each their own on what people enjoy, not my gripe here.

They've 100% done exactly what a load of noughties indie bands used to do there and try to overly polish a record that I bet sounded a million times better on demo. Used to do my head in when that was the main type of music I listened to when I was younger.
The live version is still definitely better, like. More raw

Humble brag alert - I'm off to Montevideo tomorrow so not sure how much new music I'll be able to listen to (more seriously, may well not see the playoff final). Anyway, in spite of this, here are this week's new releases... there are new albums on Friday from Amine, Billy Nomates, Chuck D, Daminao David, Dan Mangan, Ezra Furman, Jlin, Lido Pimienta, Matt Maltese, Morgan Wallen, MØ, Rico Nasty, Robin Trower, tUnE-yArDs,Mayflies USA, Mark Fry, Peter Doherty, Grails, M(h)aol and Friendship.

If you’re still there there is a bar on the main square that shows football. Well it did in 2008

Safe travels mate.

Friendship and Ezra Furman for me. Will try Matt Maltese out of interest too though I think I'm done with him these days.

Really enjoying that new Desire record too which came out in March, only just noticed it but it's the best thing I've heard from Johnny Jewel's stable in a long time. For fans of Chromatics and synth heavy bangers.

A bit early but there are new albums on Friday from Emptyset, Home Is Where, Joe Jonas, Marc Ribot, Skunk Anansie, Sparks, Stereolab, Taj Mahal & Keb Mo, These New Puritans, Francis Bebey, Ganavya, Robert Forster, When Rivers Meet and Sports Team.
Really looking forward to Stereolab. Enjoyed the 3 songs available in advance. These New Puritans were a big favourite of mine so will definitely check it out, but what I've heard so far hasn't grabbed me. Sparks have a Listening Party on Bandcamp tonight at 8pm so will hopefully get a chance to hear that album then.
Stereolab listening party at 10pm tonight.
