Nissan

Day shift absolute crap the sooner they look at changing it the better (4 day week Friday overtime) one day off a week no good. Thank goodness for up coming bank holidays.

What's crap about it?

Glad to hear things are otherwise looking positive as it'd be a f***ing disaster for the region if it went tits up.

I think going to 3 shifts on Line 2 and mothballing Line 1 is a no-brainer. The cost of upgrading Line 1 is far greater than paying the extra 10% shift allowance. Also the savings in energy costs would offset that aswell. Much more easier to control volume requirements too.

Looks like 6 days weeks are going to be the norm on dayshift.

Bloody hope so, I think most people would prefer 3 shifts. Everyone would be happy with the wage too. May have got this bit wrong but I heard that the facilities on line one are that outdated that the structure of the carriers or something along those lines, aren’t strong enough for when qashqai goes full EV

Your on to something there, I know where there are 4 or 5 carriers brand new for this new car they tried them on line 2 and were too heavy for the structure and started to pull the supports and roof down 🤦 no good going to scrap they are.

See Alan "there will be no more RECAP ever again" Johnson has spoken about the current situation for car makers in the UK... 🤔
