I get premium time for weekends, when they're on, when we are less busy, they don't pay it, it's a bonus, few pizza shops are after drivers on evenings so get in early and pick the 12% upIt’s stopped because we are no longer working shifts it’s permanent days
If people work permanent shifts they budget their lives around salary and shift allowance. It isn't the same as a weekend rate, it's the normal working week and pay.I get premium time for weekends, when they're on, when we are less busy, they don't pay it, it's a bonus, few pizza shops are after drivers on evenings so get in early and pick the 12% up

I’m just guessing here, but I’d imagine that when you get a job at Nissan you’re told “this will be your shift pattern” and that’s the way it’s always been until now. If it was overtime then I’d agree that’s a bonus and shouldn’t be counted on, but the job spec actually mentions the shift allowance in the salary.I get premium time for weekends, when they're on, when we are less busy, they don't pay it, it's a bonus, few pizza shops are after drivers on evenings so get in early and pick the 12% up
When they recruit they advertise with the salary including shift allowance.I’m just guessing here, but I’d imagine that when you get a job at Nissan you’re told “this will be your shift pattern” and that’s the way it’s always been until now. As @Boz33 said, it’s better to lose shift allowance than to lose your job, but it’s still not good having a pay cut forced on you.
Although from a personal point of view, 50% of my shifts are nights and I’d gladly give them up to do all days. In the grand scheme, I’d rather improve my chances of living longer than the 10% I get!
It isn't an allowance. They aren't taking something away for no reason. Not a contract lawyer or owt and don't work at Nissan.
If someone is in receipt of an allowance for years, even if not contractual, does it not become contractual after a certain amount of time ?
In other words can they just take any shift allowance off workers ?
gonkMackam spelling police back out again worry about your job not my spelling sad mackams
