Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Total non-story

We won’t sell him and we will offer him vastly improved terms to stay

He has huge huge potential, the club know that. He has a clear path to first team football, the lad knows that

People just make stuff up in their heads - oh he must want to be away etc

Absolutely bonkers this place
What’s even more bonkers, in my opinion, is that people look at these situations through red and white tinted specs. What you describe SHOULD be the case and would be in an ideal world. The sad fact is, that when a PL club comes calling, even if it is a ‘smaller’ club than ourselves, the PL club usually gets the player.

The good news is that Le Fee is only filling in in that position, according to the manager.

Interesting that he linked Watson with that position when he said Le Fee is only filling in. Could be reading too much into it but it could suggest that when they're both fit, Watson is his preferred choice rather than Mundle.

It was in his press conference. I can't remember exactly but I remember there was no denying that he might go. It's right at the beginning.

"If Tommy did leave, we have to replace him,” Le Bris said.

“We need two wingers on each flank, this is a better balance. Enzo can play here but only because we don't have others available at the moment."

The article does go on to state that the club consider him leaving unlikely and it would take a huge bid. I'm not sure it'll happen this window, especially if the opening bid was £4m.

Maybe it’s Brighton’s way of showing interest so if he does leave in the next couple of years, they’re head of the pack

Yeah get that can’t see him even making the bench this season though

He’d be mad to leave like. The way we set up really favours wingers like Le Bris said.

Clarke, Mundle, Watson and even Auochiche have thrived there.

Hope he stays and Brighton fuck off
It must be quite exciting for the player though. A top half PL club coming to see you and detailing how they think you're the bollocks and how much they want you to join them. I'm sure they would also make a compelling case for the lads footballing development and his expected trajectory as a top player. That and a 3-400% pay rise on his first deal. Must he hard not to get swept away by all that. No idea what other voices around him will be saying to him, his agent and family etc.

Be a big blow for Safc though because he looks like an amazing prospect. I hope he stays here.
