Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Is there a rumoured fee?

I can't imagine Brighton paying big money for him when he's had so little first team exposure.

If he wants to leave and won't sign a new contract, then sell him in the summer to the highest bidder. That way we'll get the benefit of him playing for the last few months of the season, and most likely increasing his value in the meantime.
Who says he wants to leave?

Why would he?

Is this just made up stuff, again!
Says the buffoon crying ower an 18 year old with 12 championship appearances to his name.
As I sad earlier, you are clearly intellectually challenged

Dear me

The key is “will he sign a new contract “ People on here are not part of those discussions so have no idea how they are going and if he will sign
If it’s clear or looking like he will not then they have to sell him this year
If he’s dithering then suggesting they will sell him if he doesn’t sign might encourage him

Pure speculation.

Makes sense him and Mundle cant both play when they are back.
So we got to either offer him a new deal or cash in.
And we’ve shown what happens when we don’t have one of them let alone leaving ourselves with only one from the off. Our left side has been pretty shite since we lost them both relying on cirkin to both defend that side and be our main attack down the left. We’ve shoe horned players in there since and it hasn’t really worked the odd good game playing mayenda off the wing or swapping around an off form Robert’s. The new lad clearly is t used best off the left and with aa gone we’d be absolutely bare bones on the wing.

If Sky sports are reporting in then he’s probably gone

Hopefully we get good money and he goes on to have an average career.
It’s true that Brighton and other PL clubs are very interested in him and Brighton have had 3 bids rejected already. No idea what the amount and if this January bid has been accepted though

If they want to keep Watson they’ll offer him a new contract which reflects the value they see in the player.

He’s SAFC through and through.

If they don’t offer him decent improved terms they’ll lose him for comparative peanuts albeit no doubt with a healthy sell on clause.

Total non-story

We won’t sell him and we will offer him vastly improved terms to stay

He has huge huge potential, the club know that. He has a clear path to first team football, the lad knows that

People just make stuff up in their heads - oh he must want to be away etc

Absolutely bonkers this place

He's under contract, the club don't have to sell, unless there's some agreed release clause which would be surprising for a young lad who's barely played.

Brighton offered what? 2m in the summer. On that basis, the January offer will be 5m at the very best you would have thought.

If Brighton think he can play in the top flight, what is the point in selling him now? Cannon recently went for 10/13m and nobody thinks he can play in the top flight.

If he wants to go (which is speculation at this stage), tough shite, should be told he's staying here. A serious football club wouldn't give away talented players for next to nowt.

Brighton just signed a 23yr old CB from Derby for £9m so surely the bid is north of that …. Be something like £10m with add ons 🤷
I doubt he'd want to move on so early in his career but it's flattering for the lad to get the attention from Premier clubs. Best scenario for all would be that he signs a new contract and gets plenty of game time for the remainder of the season, then see where were at in the summer. Even if we don't go up, his value will be a lot more than it is now, and if we do, then they'll be trying to buy a proven winger from a Premier club = more than £20m.

Well Regi didn't sound confident that he won't go, so on this occasion there's definitely quite a lot of truth in what posters are saying.

Haha I mean just saying that doesn't make it true like

If we cant get him down to a new deal we will sell, they've shown thats their policy

I'd be gutted as he will be a lot better than Mundle, just my opinion anyway

What did he say?
It was in his press conference. I can't remember exactly but I remember there was no denying that he might go. It's right at the beginning.
