Great, well then we dont sell the player that we didn’t want to sell.Yes but my point is that noone will pay the fees people are thinking. I don't think he will be sold. But if the player happened to say I'd like to go or I'm not signing another contract (hypothetical) there's no way it would be north of 10mil and we wouldn't want to lose value by letting him see his contract out
Takes me less to tell if a player has “ it “
Which is why he’s nivver been near even the Rayo Vallecana job.Bridcutt was a holding midfielder but a fullback, Poyet said he would even sign him if he was Real Madrid manager.
Below 18 months the value starts going down, below 12 and the value drops significantly. If he won't sign an extension on the wages our owners are prepared to pay him, then our owners will be looking to sell him asap to avoid depreciation.18months on his contract means we don’t have to sell yet. Not having to sell yet means you have to pay above market rate as we don’t want to sell.
Look at the price Wharton went to palace for then. He should be fetching more than Clarke
Stewart and us made the right decision regarding his injuries and I'm glad he got the contract he wanted. I never played football as a kid and dreamed of a certain contract. Never once. It is obviously important but you'd be a bit strange as a kid playing football in the piss and wind aged 8 thinking of thatI don’t believe you would.
This is his career, his job, his livelihood, he’s no longer a supporter he’s an employee.
The fact his contract is down to 18 months is also a bit of a giveaway he’s not planning on letting grass grow under his feet.
How is stewart in a worse situation?
Be injured at Sunderland on less money or injured at Southampton on more money!!
Tough one that mind.
This is my thoughts. Surely we're not stupid enough to not put at least a 50% sell on clause on one of our most talented prospects.& 50% sell on clause![]()
No I'm not and I've consistently said we won't sell. My point is that he would never be sold that soon for the price of 10mil North based on 400mins of football in the championship. I don't think we will sell because we don't like selling our younger players now and I don't think he will want to leave yet especially when getting game time. But if we were talking about paying that sort of fee for an 18year old l1 player who had only paid 400mins fans would be going mental at it. I'm using hypothetical because that is the only way we will sell at the moment unless a stupid bid that noone would ever offer anywayGreat, well then we dont sell the player that we didn’t want to sell.
You’re making up hypothetical scenarios now to justify your low evaluation.
This ffs.6 games.
Have we even offered him one yet?Below 18 months the value starts going down, below 12 and the value drops significantly. If he won't sign an extension on the wages our owners are prepared to pay him, then our owners will be looking to sell him asap to avoid depreciation.

Watson Isn’t 8 anymore he’s 18 and football is his career.Stewart and us made the right decision regarding his injuries and I'm glad he got the contract he wanted. I never played football as a kid and dreamed of a certain contract. Never once. It is obviously important but you'd be a bit strange as a kid playing football in the piss and wind aged 8 thinking of that
Personally disagree, I thought bundles form was dipping before his injury. I’m not saying he usurps him for sure, but I also don’t think that Watson is being told it’s not his time yet. I think they’re in close competition for the placeHe doesn’t get in ahead of Mundle close to 10 mill and a good sell on clause is smart business.
But that doesn't mean he is worth it is my point. We wouldnt get it because noone would offer it. What it comes down to is if the player wants to talk to them or is unlikely to sign an extension as any value will only go down in his last year of contract. In that scenario he is only worth what someone is willing to payExactly our point![]()
Where has that come from?£15m for a player that's only made a handful of starts isn't bad business tbf.
He had about 3 bad games before he was injured. Jesus this site! He might have been carrying an injury or fatigued! Can't criticise mundle this season like.Mundle had a great start but he tailed off badly. I’ve always been a massive fan of Watson though.
Big few days for the club tbh.
I expected us to really go and bring in 2 or 3 quality additions to have a go at promotion and so far we've managed 1. Seems like they don't want to spend any money upfront in fees atm and are into this obligation of promoted stuff that isn't very attractive to clubs.
Losing Watson would be another kick in the balls really for what will inevitably be a low fee. Feels like the club are once again worried about a contract running down and getting less money for players.
What times we live in…sounds a f***ing bell end. He’s about as good a source as you can get. If he’s tweeting it there’s something in it
At the minute? No he won't manThis he’ll get game time at Brighton.
