There's a get around if the police/ground authority stipulate away fans have to be in an upper tier for segregation reasons. That's why the away fans are still in the gods at the shit tip.

It snowed the day before. I think it was melting on the roof and was leaking through because it was in specific places.
You get 30k tickets, or Man City and United did last year anyway. Should be enough for all the season ticket holders I'd say because not everyone will want to go. Don't disagree with cup attendees getting priority though with the season tickets mind.
Thought you meant that people attended the cup games would get priority over everyone.
Maybe just do a 5+ points? I believe that would be more than all the home points that have been given out this season with cups and the freebies around Christmas.

I was down the ticket office sorting a couple of things out when I got our tickets. A bloke came in and asked to opt into the direct debit scheme for cup tickets. The lasses on the desk said they haven't done that for years. I guess it was another thing lost when they moved to Ticketmaster.
I bet the option to opt in at the start of the season and being able to keep your own seat would make a difference.

30 000 wouldn't (and don't go) if it was £20, that's what the current problem is.
It would cost the club money by having the full ground open though with blocks half empty though so who's winning? The only people that would cater for is those obsessed with attendance numbers as the club would be worse off.
I might be in the minority but there was a lot more people there than I expected, I thought we would've stuggled to get 5 figures like Sheffield United did. It was a cup game against Stoke which cost £20. Nothing attractive about that.

It's a canny chunk to subsidise though? Not sure how many STs we have - say 33-35k? Say we've got 25k full price and 10k concessions that's £150k out of our coffers given away to Stoke just to host the game.

For me opening up bits of ground and releasing blocks section at a time doesn’t help.
Just open all the bottom bowl day 1 of sales, give the away fans the north stand lower section (middle of it at least and leave sides empty for segregation).
Then sell all tickets for £10 for adult and £5 for kids anywhere in bottom bowl. Same for away fans. Simple pricing and giving families an opportunity to see a game relatively cheaply compared to normal.
Then advertise the hell out of it and really push it. Getting loads of kids in attendance is a good thing for the health of the game.
Appreciate it will not be full but better than the current experience.

Half them won't be happy until the social is paying for them. From the excuses I've heard this morning those missing wouldn't go if they were offered entrance for nowt. Heartbreaking.

I’m not sure if FA would be ok with kids for a quid though, although I agree lower pricing is the way to go for cup games.
I heard the FA set minimum pricing allowed but not sure what it is and if it differs for adults and kids.

This is the minimum that has to happen for the next home cup match. As well as making it difficult for people to buy in groups and being put off by the hassle of the approach taken yesterday, as someone who was there, believe you me, if they do the same next time there will be loads who went yesterday who will be put off going due to the shambles getting into the ground and the concourse situation.
Might be a minority opinion as well, but having the 16,000 yesterday spread across the lower bowl, whilst still looking shite, would look way better and less embarrassing than having full stands closed and empty. The club needs to stop thinking small time.
To add, if any evidence is needed to assess the impact of the different approaches taken, how come we had 30k turn up against Fulham in the 4th round midweek replay a couple of years ago? That was also against an uninspiring team and it was also televised on the BBC, and there’s not much difference attraction wise between Rounds 3 and 4.

A lot of good ideas and suggestions ,the club did themselves no favours yesterday with the shambles getting in, some upto 15 mins late
One passing female club official said don't blame us the stadium has been open since half one.
Aye good idea go in early in almost sub zero temperatures , how about opening both sides of the turnstiles when the problem was escalating, not at ten past three ..
I queue for usually no more than 5 mins when there is 40k but 35 mins yesterday for 15k.
Crap organisation. I hope they take the opportunity to read some of these proposals and learn from it. It was a fiasco yesterday.

When people talk about stuff being expensive why do they always add on stuff they dont need to pay for and also at ridiculously high levels?Not sure I’d have gone yesterday even if my ticket was free, also we’ve had three home games in the last few weeks, it’s just after Christmas people haven’t got the money, I’d imagine if you’re taking a couple of kids to the game, tickets, transport, food and drinks would be the thick end of £100
