Future cup games - fan experience and incentives to go

Let's be honest we weren't really bothered about winning yesterday and the match wasn't exactly exciting. I'm not surprised people don't bother going and I don't think you can do anything to get a good attendance.

Incentive to go? Win a few.
Thats our first home defeat of the season.

We are notoriously bad at attending cup games.

18000 tickets unsold for a semi final v man u in 2014. If we can't get anywhere near selling out for a semi final, incentives aren't going to make much difference on a gate v stoke in the 3rd round

Treat it like a league game and gan for it including the team . Everybody knew the B team would be playing , so the support followed suit . I was there as the wife wanted me to go and visit some places where you can buy things , I think they are called shops or something fuck that ha way the lads

I usually sit in the West stand, yesterday we were in the east, U3. The roof was leaking, dropping on us constantly, so we moved. Do people sit there every game it rains getting wet or is something being done about it?
I always sit in the east stand and it never leaks as much as it did yesterday. It was all over aswell not just 1 or 2 spots. I think it may have been due to it being so cold and getting warmer and condensation building up. I don't think there's anything the club can do about it.

The FA cup is dying, accept it and move on
Not as much for most other teams like Boro , Coventry , norwich and Leicester.
There attendances nowhere near as down as ours .
It's peculiar

This is the same for most clubs.
Infact lots of clubs make more changes than us.

Great idea about emailing people directly and offering them thier own seat (other than PC of course)

When you buy your season ticket, there should be an option to automatically purchase all home cup tickets in your own seat via the direct debit. I think if people were guaranteed their own seat, a lot would take this up, and if they have paid for a ticket there is also a good chance they would turn up at the match.

If it all automatic, its a lot easier than people having to make a concious effort to buy the ticket, arrange where to sit with their friends, not having to justify the expenditure especially after Christmas etc.

There are certainly other clubs that still offer this.

Totally agree with psychology bit, it would seem a tiny percentage of a season ticket cost and there would be zero hassle as you'd turn up just like any other league game.. you wouldn't have to think

Only issue is that they'd have to open the whole ground .so I'd compromise and unfortunately not offer this service to the premier concourse ST holders (or offer them the service but in a different seat, somewhere nice in the west stand )

Make it easy to buy like op says.

Home cup ticket scheme was always dead easy, update your ticket automatic without getting a new one, guaranteed your seat etc. the path of least resistance was to go!

Also - try. Playing half a first team, couple with only opening half the ground open doesn’t shout ‘we’re here to win’

Problem is that if we get another mag game scenario, then can't guarantee you your own seat. Or maybe they could use that as justification for not moving people & say it's upstairs, if authorities don't like it, it's tough you get less tickets

We used to do this and it made it the path of least resistance to go - it was harder not to buy a ticket! Not sure if there is some boring legal reason we stopped this - ie you’ve got to authorise the transaction nowadays etc. don’t know but seemed odd they did stop it

Become a mid table Premier League team where we might actually have a chance to win it as there's no loss to actually go for it.

Other than that the league is more important hence there should be a B team playing, especially when our squad is as small as it is right now anyway.
