Future cup games - fan experience and incentives to go

Being able to goto the ticket office & buy a physical ticket, instead of the lottery of waiting for ticketmaster email to fail to send.
I bought mine on line but it didn't give me a print option. So, I went to the ticket office and the nice lady there said I could buy a paper ticket from there instead of buying online.

How about the club tries in cup games for a change???
It’s a balance of priorities and think most understand the team yesterday and there prob would have been more criticism if we played full strength, like it or not the cups have lost their appeal, that’s up to the fa to sort and only way is financial incentives but a different discussion

Rather than penny pinching for our next home cup match the club should prioritise the fan experience, and as much as people say they don’t care what other fans think it doesn’t look good closing 70% of the stadium, also the player experience must be effected playing with only 1 and a half stands open.

Start by making it as easy as possible for season ticket holders to continue their habit of going using tech, and use incentives to encourage all fans to go
  • text, email etc to season card holder confirming their seat is waiting for them with a link to the basket that allows you to purchase in a couple of clicks
  • Trial an option for season ticket holders to add home cup games to your next renewal, this can be charged and included in your direct payments, anything not used can be rolled over to next season.
  • £15 special offer as a season ticket holder (i think this is minimum allowed in cup), extend offer to members for first 48 hours of tickets sales following season card period.
  • 1 or 2 loyalty points for attending (ticket must be scanned in) stating loyalty points will be used if any Wembley visit this season is oversubscribed. Someone mentioned boro offer 2, and I’m sure you get more caps with England for home games than aways which they put in place because the home friendlies etc were badly attended.
  • 50% off voucher for the club shop to be used on the day of the game on 1 item (encourage people to use the shop and some may buy more than one item)
  • Free pint and a pie before 2:30pm - encourage people to get in the ground early and some of these may buy additional pints etc after the free one
I get the argument that if you want to go you will go, but it was hard work from the off just buying the tickets and it must have put some off, it took me over 10 clicks to purchase a seat with a decent view for example which is ridiculous. and so limited choice many were waiting to see if they would open up more areas. At one point on Friday which was prime time for people deciding what to do at the weekend, the available seats was limited to a few hundred in the corner. The club put zero effort into any marketing or selling the tickets and all this created a we don’t care if you come feel about it.

We are creatures of habits as fans, make it as easy as possible to buy tickets, use incentivise to encourage people to go and put a bit effort into the marketing.
Best incentive would be to take the games and competitions seriously for a start and then look to add other little perks mentioned.

This is a bigger problem than us though. The FA cup needs reviving somehow so it's no longer seen as an inconvenience by teams challenging promotion or fighting relegation.

Have some cash / contactless turnstiles.

Open the entire lower bowl from the very start

Great idea about emailing people directly and offering them thier own seat (other than PC of course)

Open the ticket office late one night per week (should be doing this anyway)

Explain to the away team that we are charging £10 (that's the FA minimum) and that it will be financially rewarding for them as we'll sell double the amount of tickets

Do some promotion around school aged kids and 'the magic of the cup' and maybe designate a block to school kids only , try and get some Youngns hooked on the club

Have someone at the ticket office answering the phone

Don't block OAPs from buying a ticket with a u18 due to 'needing an adult '

Actually advertise the fuck out of the game on the website and social media. 2 or 3 posts per day. The main advert on the website currently is for 12-game season tickets , of which two games have already been played

Pretty much every podcast preview said they weren't bothered about the result and we should rest as many players as possible and happy we go out asap to focus on the league.

I agree with them and I think many people do which is why there was so little interest.

The mags game you couldn't unless you paid a fiver

Sell the East stand, SEC and South stand from the beginning, rather than releasing bits and bobs at a time.

Open enough turnstiles so people can get in.

Have tickets that work and don't block people who have paid from entering the stadium.

Getting in when they only open certain areas of the ground is a nightmare.

We also need a pay on the day system for certain games.

Queue to buy tickets on the day was also huge, if I had decided to pay on the day I would probably have turned around and went to the pub instead of standing in that knowing you would be missing some of the game, Im sure plenty will have done that.

We seem to make easy things very difficult.

Annoyingly I also got dripped on all game, didn’t matter where I moved my left knee the drip found it.

Anyway, to answer the question I'd seen a very good suggestion the other day about rolling points up for attendance.

Something like attend round 3 get 1 point, if you've done that and we're at home round 4 you get 2 points. If you didn't attend round 3 you'd just get 1 for round 4. And so on and so forth.
Can just imagine the ticket office facilitating this, they’d never get their heads round it.

Fix the leaking roof😁. I, like many wasn't going to go, as I thought the seats remaining in Friday morning weren't very good. When they opened up the others, they went quite quickly. This sales thing is Ticket master all over. They did it at Wembley, even though everyone knew it would sell out.
