Besides this with it's odd release date, there are new albums this week from Franz Ferdinand, Lambrini Girls, Moonchild Sanelly, Ringo Starr, Early James, Zzzahara, Xhosa Cole, Bridget Hayden & the Apparitions and Brown Spirits.

Started my year with Ethel Cain and not sure I’ll be listening again. Didn’t really do much for me.

New releases can be a promising start to the year. Lambrini Girls and Moonchild Sonally will probably get a listen from me.

I was originally going to mention the length in my post too. There were some clear moments of real melody hidden beneath all of the, erm, noise. Certainly a departure from her other more poppy stuff.

After about a week of it I’m happy to rate it my first 10/10 of the year

That jasmine is signed onto Phoebe Bridgers' record label and touring with Lucy Dacus. Will be giving it a spin.
