Ben Stokes “Durham > England”

It tends to unbalance the side if he only plays as a batter, though. And it’s debatable whether he’s good enough these days with the talent England have available in the middle order. Although I would have him ahead of Pope even if his raw numbers don’t justify it.

At the end of day one, i was surprised he bowled the most overs between the 4

He's a fighter and he'll keep going even if his arms and legs fall off.

T'is but a scratch.
Hamstring tears aren't just a scratch particularly if it's a recurrence. He was clearly very distressed as he came off the field.
Just wonder if these injuries are recurring because he's holding back because of the knee condition

Our next test is not for nearly 5 months so there should be enough time to recover. I know he'll miss the white ball stuff over the winter but I don't think he's too bothered.

Feel like this is good news for Durham, he’ll need to get some games under belt early season to bring him up to speed with the rigours of red ball cricket.

Or atleast that’s the common sense view.

As for his ‘language’, aren’t we all sick to f*cking death of establishment posh boys as captain? It’s in keeping with the ‘vibes’ of the current side and I for one fully embrace it. Bring it the f*ck on

I think that’s a little bit cliched. Indeed considering the decline of cricket and state schools and the preponderance of public school boys in the first class game, that four of the last six permanent England skippers (Vaughan, Flintoff, Root and Stokes) do not fall into that category suggests you’re about two decades out of date.

The tweet is very much in keeping with Stoke’s character and style of leadership, and I don’t particularly have a problem with it, but it’s not about class for me.
