Northern trains

Me and my friend have just booked onto the 17.07 Sunderland to Newcastle so if anyone see us leaving five minutes early please don’t heckle.
I've given up, can get to SoL for ko but with 1730 from Sland to Ncl canx I'll miss my train from Ncl to York, can't transfer my ticket to GC and not paying for another ticket plus £10 to transfer LNER ticket to a later date.

If you have a through ticket from Sunderland, and the delay is down to the Northern connection, your advance ticket is good for the next LNER out of Newcastle.
Don’t blame you for giving up though.

Already been a shitshow this morning with transpennine cancellations, we will just be aiming to get any train going vaguely in the direction of Newcastle/york after the match and hope for the best.

For some reason I only bought York - Ncl this time but thanks. I use the train a fair bit, I keep getting vouchers because LNER frequently don’t have catering on Sat evening trains, I always complain!

I’m staying over for Sheff Utd game and will prob drive up for Pompey game.

If you are in York I’m surprised you don’t use Grand Central. No problems with Grand Central services today.

As your journey is delayed due to disruption you’re allowed to travel on the next available service on your original ticket.

Decided to drive from whitby rather than risk the Middlesbrough to Sunderland leg on northern there and back. Roads surprisingly quiet....daughter is driving which means I can still have a couple of pints.

That’s a shame.
Sometimes use them when I stay over, even then frequently let down and no hot drinks is a regular occurrence. I'd have probably risked it if I could have transferred my LNER ticket.
I'd like to know how long Gateshead council or Highway Authority or whoever is responsible for the flyover have known there was a structural problem and why no maintenance has been done? Got to wonder if this would be allowed in London. How many MP's kicking up a fuss about this, doesn't Sunderland have a couple of ministers in new Govt? They should be creating cane about it.
Trains in this country are a shambles. Labour can shove my vote up their arse if they don’t resolve it.
Northern and TPE are a shambles, I avoid them like the plague. GC second to bonny and can be a lottery as well.

Action needs to be taken by the main football clubs
( delegation to see Transport Minister etc ) Current system is piss poor. " use public transport they preach". They cant keep letting events like football matches down. This along with the damage to traders.
