As scatty as he’s looked at times I still think it has to be Pope. His record is still decent.
And hopefully a spell down the order has helped

Only 2-3 chases ever over 400.

Really hope Bethell manages to get a century. He’s deserved one.
It’ll also make him undroppable heading into the English summer. Then it’s just 1 series to do okay and he’s guaranteed to play in Aus.

I know some people have mentioned that he's been under no pressure in those previous two knocks, don't agree with it but regardless, you've still got to go score the runs
He’s looked very good first innings too.

In all seriousness though I think looking at their side before the series unable to find a place in the side for Will Young despite his performances in India imo there looked a good side.
The wider point that the post was made in context with was 2-1 in New Zealand is a good result, not sure that should be disputed.
But yes the toss was a terrible decision and been very poor in this test match but bigger picture again is we have won the series away from home against a good side imo
