1st TEST :: New Zealand v England

I'm not saying he should be moved yet! But long term, he will definitely have the ability to be a proper Test match no.3, averaging 45+. He's freakishly good. Totally agree with leaving him where he is for now, but with Robinson and Rew waiting around, we're OK for Keepers - and long term he could be the no.3 we've been desperate for since Trott retired.

I wasn't saying you particularly making that point. Just in general.

Twitter was full of it during the summer and his England career had barely started. Like let him get in the door first before going he's far too good to bat 7 move him immediately :lol:

It will be a tough one and I’ve read that Southee is retiring , so he will really be out to finish on a high

Might be worth checking what’s available for a man of the match or series for him

Southee has been finished for a while. Sensible that he fell on his sword in terms of captaincy and now retirement.

Perhaps one last hurrah now not burdened with being effectively an 11th man as captain isn't a bad shout.

It’s like people were rather they were out on the drink or something

The selection tactics are literally the exact opposite of that too, they are picking people out of nowhere who they have never met and who mostly don’t play golf. Very strange thing, I’ve no idea why it’s a thing

He would get in as a specialist batsman never mind a keeper. Unless you’re mad enough to think he’s worse than Clark or Borthwick.
