That second half

Agreed that’s how football works when you are winning.

Failure to take those opportunities increase the pressure and sometimes lead to results like today.
Yep. But it wasn't a reflection on us playing great football and carving them open.

If we take one of those chances it papers over the cracks of a poor second half performance.

We lacked control and composure.

Being serious who still expects this squad to be going at it with the energy and pace it was early season? It's just not possible.

It's largely the same squad as last season. One or two have improved, one or two are fit, we've lost our best player, who would still be our best player despite some of the nonsense being posted on here this season about him and we've added a couple of options up top - one of whom looks really good.

In reality we've not supplemented the squad enough to last the distance in the manner we started the season and if anyone thinks that's down to the likes of Dodds and not the make up and quality of the squad they're fools.

There's always going to be an up and down to it and a running out of steam as we've just not got the depth of experience and quality and we're extremely reliant on some young players, not to mention several of our decent options being injury prone.
This. Think it was telling early that RLB doesn’t trust the bench and would rather tinker with the system then use players he dosent feel are quite ready. We were always going to drop out of the top spot even the automatics at some point, important we learn from the mistakes today and being honest I think it’s quite a quick fix once there’s players back in the squad for example jobe who we’ve missed enormously.

Not wanting to point fingers, and being aware he came off in the second half. This is where i’ve been quite disappointed with Browne of late, without knowing what type of midfielder he actually was when signed i expected games like midweek where we were up against it, for him to be the calming presence in the middle of the park ticking things along when we got the ball, i’m not sure he’s done that since the opening day at Cardiff.

Straight out of the Grayson/Coleman/Dodds/Beale handbook. After the way we performed in the first half, to play like that was just baffling.
Very poor in game management 2nd half from Reg like
Very frustrating, but the first half was excellent. We're a young team and need experience in January, but we've played poorly this week and still didn't lose any of those 3 games and go into the international break top. Lots to improve on and a great position to do it from.
Define experience coz.......
Disappointing yes, but I'd suggest just steadying on a smidgen.
2nd Half performances like that could cost us automatic promotion

I don't't think first half was excellent. The goals insolation were though, absolutely brilliant. We had some decent combination play but struggled to win the ball back off them or get any sustained control of the game. We have played much better than that first half this season.
I watched Isidor for 2 or 3 minutes after failing to knock past the on rushing keeper. He was absolutely gutted with himself.
Would like to see that one again. Seems like Isidor did the one thing the keeper wanted him to do and that's hit it straight at him and it bounced away to safety.

Fair enough, I disagree. I thought we looked excellent going forward and didn't really struggle defensively. I don't think it was our best performance this season.

Players who, when the game is going like it did after the 1st goal for them, can calm things down and help us regain control without losing our heads. Players who've faced that type of situation many times in there career and don't get emotionally caught up in it.

I think it shows how another three game week caught up with some of the players.

As good as we were first half by ten minutes into the second there was a few of our lot out on their feet. Rigg was superb first 45 but he was running through treacle most of the second half and his touch completely deserted him.

Tiredness also affected the decision making in the final third (at least I’m giving them that excuse). Roberts, Mundle, Neil and Isodor all squandered great openings to put the game to bed.

As for Millwall away - the lineup for that one will be keeping Regis awake for the next fortnight!
Which shows how daft it was to go a man down in midfield for the last 15-20 minutes
