Ross Stewart

Southampton took an educated gamble.

He was clearly a very good player, they will have looked at who performed the operation and his progress in returning and assessed that there's a good chance he will be ok, albeit a few niggles after such a long time out.

It hasnt worked out so far but it still might (I have no idea what his latest injury is as I write this)

Doctor Dolittle

How do you have so much knowledge on this deal?
im not claimed any knowledge..
No idea mate it’s that Kildares post
Jason Wilcox won the premier league as a player with Blackburn. He is currently technical director at Man Utd, his role immediately prior to that was as director of football at southampton when they signed Ross Stewart.
Ross is on £28,000 a week according to Southampton journalists. It will help cushion his pain.
We should just remember the good times we had with him here. Brilliant the year we went up as play-off wiiners and - If he'd stayed fit - I'm sure we'd have gone up again the following year.
Great signing and, in retrospect, looking like a great sale, too.
he is underpaid for a premier league player.

He was in the side that was relegated 69/70 for only the second time in our history.Sold to Derby in 71 we won the cup 2 years later.
What did we miss exactly.?

Colin whee?
As another poster has said either you are too young or on a wind up ;) but Toddo was possibly the best player we have had since Charlie Hurley. Was brilliant for us and went onto great things with Derby including winning the league and being named Player of the year, or players player iirc

Aye, I know all about what he did elsewhere, however the fact remains there was no impact when he left us,we were already in the 2nd Division and not challenging for promotion.
He developed whilst with us same as Clarkey did then moved on.
