He wasn’t ahead of him on reputation alone man. Christ at the equivalent point he had played more championship games , had moved to Germany and in the coming weeks would become the youngest English player to start in the champions league, make his England u21 debut and his England debut

Jude Bellingham’s physical development was ahead of Rigg too which helped him breakout sooner.

No this is at the same equivalent points. Their birthdays are even close together so it’s not like one is the oldest in a year group and one is the youngest in a year group.

People have tried to talk down Rigg saying 'well he isn't Jude at 17' but he is never going to be. He's a 17 year old kid with a boy's physique playing man's football.
Players develop at differed rates. Jude wasn't fully physically developed at 16 (like Rooney) but he was 6 foot and very athletic.
Peter Beardsley never played at a decent level until he was 22. He was rejected by several clubs because he was too small. He's the same height as Rigg is now.
Nobody is talking him down man. Stop getting so defensive about him. Everyone loves him ,and thinks he is doing fantastic. And long may it continue

Not top flight. He played at Carlisle and Vancouver. North American footy isn't Championship standard now.

He was playing and doing very well in the third tier as a teenager . That’s a decent level to be fair
When you're talking about players aspiring to play for England Carlisle in the old 3rd division isn't a great level.
