Chris Rigg

Hughes was a great prospect, is a really good player and has had a fantastic career. I would hope Rigg achieves more in his time in terms of levels reached and silverware, but Hughes has spent most of his professional career in the top flight and done well.

Jack Wilshire is a great example of a supposed generational talent who, although having a successful career, ended up being nothing special.

He'd barely played 120 minutes in his career at Rigg's age. He did end up underachieving though.
Legs made of poppadoms though

Yeah, that's the big fear with Rigg. Injuries are the only thing that could stop him having a great career imo.

more down to injuries that to be fair like.

He was really good. Playing in the Orem and champions league at 16 year old.

That game against Barca in the champions league where he ran the show against Xavi iniesta etc was unbelievable

Not as good as rigg like 😂😂😂

Yep. Injuries destroy promising careers. Norman Whiteside is a good example.

He was making the point Rigg being linked to big clubs means nowt because Hughes was also linked to big clubs, it was hardly rocket science to work out. Where as Rigg is being called a generational talent which means he must be seen as being a better talent than Yamal.

If Man City and Co seen him as a generational talent they'd have offered him a massive wage to leave us.
Aye but will hughes at that age was the next big thing.

Obliviously it didn’t turn out as everybody expected but massive things were expected of him

That’s the point he’s trying to make but everybody seems to be ignoring him
I got the point but simply don't agree. I don't think Hughes showed anywhere near the level we are seeing from Rigg personally..

The fact Hughes had played a few games seems to be enough for a comparison. Which @AndrewP Is even questioning his numbers on.

On paper I would say Rigg has everything Wiltshire had but he's cleverer and has natural aggression too rather than small man syndrome.

But we'll see.

That’s a very fair point.

But on the flip side rigg has shown nowhere near the ability players like Bellingham and Foden did at that age but some don’t seem to be taking that into account

He’s playing a very low standard of football ( comparatively ) to what they were at his age.

I agree with that, level needs to take into account.

But we'll see if he can do it in the Premier League and Champions League, like Wiltshire.
Tidied for you Keith.

Wish you'd corrected his spelling of Wilshere. ;-)
Who cares really. 😂

He said that he had done loads more by Rigg's age. He was completely wrong, but for some reason he won't admit it. I'm not sure why. It's clear to see he had barely played for the first team when he was Rigg's age.

He does need to watch his level of aggression a bit or a red card is inevitable and I wouldn’t want to see it derail his season.
I loved the tackles he was making against Pompey but referees aren’t so keen.

What do you want me to admit, I’ve asked you a couple of times now, I’ll admit it if you tell me where I was wrong.

Hughes played 35 games, 33 of them starts, and an injury ended his season.

What exactly have I got wrong, I’m happy to admit when I’m wrong if you check my posting history.
