Roko Simic - potential signing

From what hes said seems like up front but if we need him to he'll fill in on either flank, Wilson, Simic and Mayenda looks good to me.

Just think if you add Mendy you have 3 strikers who want to be starting every game and you end up chopping and changing so none of them get enough of a run of games.
Makes no odds about run of games, look at quinn n Phillips partnership, dichio and bridges never hot a run of games, they were dubs and back up,
Competition and depth is massive if we're gonna have a successful season.

Interesting on here, Phil Smith saying the club want 2 forwards in before the deadline. Not necessarily centre forwards, it could be 1 winger and 1 central, or Isidor could be used wide if it is 2 centre forwards .

I’m glad they do. I get the versatility but Wilson is either a winger who can play up front or a Striker who can play wide. Unlikely to be equally adept at both. So ideally we need one of each or if he’s going to be battling Mundle for the Lw spot we need 2 proper strikers.

And a RB!

Keith downie said we are in advanced talks and he was here having face to face talks with the hierarchy this week
He didn’t say he was here mate. We could have sent a delegation to meet him in Austria tbf which is more likely. Think if he was here it would be to sign.

I’m on about how we spend that money though, as in getting a replacement of ‘similar’ quality that might cost a decent chunk of the fee we receive instead of absolute punts like Hemir, Mayenda and Rusyn and then starting the cycle again, you wet wipe.
I think most don't know how that goes - and it brings risk as tbh we haven't been that great when spending money (hjelde / Rusyn two of our bigger fees - though too early to judge as Rusyn looked good when he came on yesterday).
But it's a valid point - I always thought that the next stage would be to sell players like Clarke and then buy players for 5 mil or so to replace - similar to what cov did with selling gykores / hamer and bringing in Simms and wright in.
We will have to wait and see.

Jack Clarke wasn’t doing well at Tottenham (and didn’t set the work alight on his loan with us) and was a punt, Mundle was a punt, Stewart was unproven in the championship another punt.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that these aren’t exactly uneducated punts but reasoned risk/reward acquisitions, some won’t work out and it’s a natural scheme of things but don’t focus just on the negative.

Phil Smith said in the video posted earlier.

Still in for Mendy - hopeful but a gap in valuation.

Simic had talks - wasn’t here for a medical. One that could happen but he has other options too.
