Jack Clarke

Ipswich have tabled an 'opening bid'. It's a negotiation process that will be resolved by how much their final offer is, compared to how much our owners value keeping him at all costs, or taking the cash.

So many poorer players being sold by other clubs for much more than £15m.

Mate of mine knows Ian Harte well

He says Ipswich had a medical booked for JC last night but he decided he didn’t want to go, he says there is a good chance he will sign a new contract with us
I’m all for a bit of silliness in the transfer window but if this isn’t true it’s playing with people’s emotions. My 8 year old son will ball his eyes out if Clarke goes and my 4 year old thinks his favourite footballer is “Clarketearyouapart”, so I might bloody cry.

I hope this is somewhere near the truth

I mean, most of us expected him to leave this summer, but it still f#cking hurts to lose a player of that calibre, especially as we now look to be getting a striker or two in who would add to Clarkes huge goals/assists.

Who the f#ck do we bring in to replace him this late in the window when clubs will want to have our pants down knowing we have accepted around 20m for Clarke?

Feels very 2 steps foward, 2 steps back.

He isn't leaving

Would suggest a fee at least had been agreed, which is worrying.
Nah it doesn't. It would however suggest both clubs think it's likely a fee will will eventually be agreed. Similar when clubs give permission for players to discuss personal terms before a final fee has been agreed
