Jack Clarke

You get the impression that if it was completely up to Clarke he'd stay here and sign a new deal. But he's got Harte in his ear who can see a potential big payday.

Agents for you
I think Clarke is in a great position

If a PL team match our valuation he can agree a move get a whacking big pay rise and a crack at the premier league.

If no one meets his valuation he stays at a place he clearly enjoys and thrives in and gets a new improved contract.

Nah it doesn't. It would however suggest both clubs think it's likely a fee will will eventually be agreed. Similar when clubs give permission for players to discuss personal terms before a final fee has been agreed
Hmm, interesting.

It's a shame we're even listening if the tabled bid is so low.
He will be away then

Cheers Clarkey look forward to booing you next season 😂
I'd be inclined to agree like. Once it gets to this point they're usually away.

Gutted.

I cant emotionally cope with this JC and the whereabouts of potentially 2 new strikers

I'm thinking about logging off and hiding in a dark room until 1st September ..........rather than checking this board every 5 minutes when I should be working

or instead I might just 'get a life' 😠

Unfortunately it’s a reality he’ll go
We have talented players teams will want
Loads of championship teams have sold good players this summer, look at Leeds, almost a fire sale there
Player like him is premier league quality it’s so hard to keep hold of someone like him
It’s what we do next that counts
Two strikers incoming hopefully and you’d like to think helps us strengthen other areas
It’s where players like Mundle get chance to step up
It’s disappointing but it doesn’t have to be end of the world stuff

What point are you on about?
Everytime a club makes a bid the player leaves? He’d have gone already if that was the case, + Jobe, Hume, Ekwah

if we replace his goals which is what we have been lacking...hes been so good because he has had to be, he was our only outlet for half a season last year

and he might look and see players coiming in and think I can do something here, the club is going in the right direction, its clear he loves playing here and has good mates in the squad

If Speakman accepts a bid of anything less than £20m he needs chasing from the club.
My min is 25.
Plus add ons. Problem is that money is useless to us unless it’s invested in players.
Losing Stewart, Simms, Amad, and now potentially Clarke from the squad that finished the season before last and replacing them lads who have barely an assist and goal between them is aspirational suicide.

Its all a bit of a mess by all accounts. So....

A contract has been verbally agreed, but not actually signed yet. Harte is advising JC to hang fire until we see what happens at the end of the window.

Jack is still more than happy here, he loves being at SAFC and would never force a move, but also wants to play in the PL and ideally would love it be with us.

I'd mentioned before that we'd turned down bids from Ipswich earlier in the summer, and they've come back with another (slightly) higher offer, but J isnt interested in going there.

The Leeds stuff was rubbish.
I choose to anoint you chief ITK.

Out of pure hope and desperation more than anything else mind.
