Disney world Florida

That’s what got me thinking. ^
I’m sure I’ve been. Gonna have to look through me mams photos from all the years she took me as a kid to see if can find out. I’ve a feeling I’ll have been about 9/10 year old. Maybe younger.
Without checking dates, I think it might have still been open the first time I went, but we didn't. 2nd trip 2 years later we did go to Typhoon though.

We got robbed in typhoon lagoon. Was the end of the day went on one last slide before closing. Whole family went. They stole a bag and the hire which had our haul from the mall in boot. Can remember getting lift back to hotel which now the drury in one of those bay watch type pick ups.

We went in 96’ I think. The first time we went, I was only 9 but have some vague memories of it.
Went back in 2003 and it wasn’t available to visit.
Why did it actually close?
Oh, it was certainly there for my first trip then.
The video I posted covers your question, its a good watch. Short answer is "brain eating bacteria" and "too small"

First thunder storm and rain of the trip. Had 5 days blistering heat.

10 mins rain and done just there. Still a bit grey, but grateful of the break in heat. Burnt to bits from typhoon lagoon yesterday

Just had one in Hollywood studios mate, tremendous.

Loads of frozen tequila slushies in a stall just outside of tower of terror
I’ve everything crossed they still there next year 😂

I never went there. I’ve just googled it. Wonder why we never went as was there when we visited.
There wasn’t that much there, A few animals, a big aviary, and a bird show. About the only thing I remember was walking through a huge flock of vultures on the beach.
We’ve hired a boat on the lake a few times and gone round the island, you can still see the dock, but you’re not allowed on it now.

Discovery? You had to pre-book iirc, it was very limited in numbers.
It was included in the tickets we had the one time we went there. You didn’t need to pre book they just wouldn’t let you on if there was too many people on the Island. Having said that I don’t think it ever got full, it’s one of the reasons it closed. Not enough there for anyone to bother making the effort.

I think in about 1992 you were at least recommended to pre-book, or could have just been a way to encourage people to go. I'm going back a long way now though.

I was there in 93. That video says it was a half day park, I doubt it was more than a couple of hours.

Been here 4 days and been drenched by persistent rain twice. Everyone told me it only rained for 30 minutes before we came

Was left stranded at Hollywood studios last night, managed to get an Uber.
