Disney world Florida

Not long back from Orlando and spent a week at the Hard Rock Hotel for Universal and a week at Disney. My kids are a bit older now and they weren’t as blown away by Disney this time but loved Universal as it has by far the better rides. Guardians of the Galaxy at Epcot was pretty impressive mind, but most Disney rides are pretty tame. I must admit that Magic Kingdom infuriated me this time due to the amount of mobility scooters, “strollers”, and generally slow moving people making it nigh on impossible to get round the park. Again, it’s more down to my kids being a bit older, I get that it’s aimed more at younger families.

We were in Magic Kingdom the day after Halloween and couldn’t believe that the whole park had been fully decorated for Christmas overnight. Not only that, hundreds of Americans were wearing Christmas and Happy Holidays tee shirts. Batshit mental!!

Had a brilliant time though and hopefully will go back in the next couple of years. If we do I think we will miss out Disney and just do Universal, Seaworld and maybe another park. Universal’s Epic Universe opens next year and it looks massive from the plans.

On a side note, what’s with the amount of Brazilians in Disney these days? I reckon there were more Brazilians than any other nation there. I kept thinking there were loads of mags everywhere but a good few of the Brazilian teams play in black and white stripes and most of them wore football shirts. Didn’t notice it last time we were there, don’t know if we just hit the Brazilian holidays that week?
Was watching a documentary about Epcot and the building of world showcase and he was explaining that Brazilians are the biggest population in Florida apart from Americans so it made sense that they were looking at adding Brazil to countries.

Love the muppets and love Rock an Rollercoaster.
Leave them as they are.🤬

Gonna turn that area where the muppets currently is into a massive monsters inc. bit. New rollercoaster going in around there.

Bit around the corner from Rock n rollercoaster, think its a Cars show at the minute is changing into a disney villains bit as well

They are building a new large ride in the area where Pizza Rizzo and the Muppets 3D is. Shame though, its a classic show.

Rock n Rollercoaster is one I like, but Aerosmith really never fit with the park. Its already been re-themed in other parks (Avengers I think, at Paris? - they never really went with Aerosmith 100% in the first place anyway, they were playing Oasis outside last time I was there). So actually a muppets ride could be really cool if they do it well?

Will Epic Universe be open when you're there?
Dunno. When does it open? Doubt we go as feel kids still too young for universal at minute.

Sometime in spring I think mate.

Aye we did universal in the summer, but only Studios and not islands of adventure. Was a bit more kiddy stuff in there for the bairn with the new dreamworks stuff open

We fly first couple days of may. Think it probably be 2026 when we attempt the universals with kids. The dreamworks area looks decent on the videos I’ve seen.

We’re giving both Paris parks a go next Xmas too. Just booked that up. 5 days including Xmas day in park. We did a day other year at Paris MK but felt busier than Orlando MK.

Not opening until after we go next Easter. tbh, not fussed - already far too much for the twins to experience on one holiday.

Got 14 day combined disney and universal tickets, and booked a hotel at Universal to get 2 days of unlimited fast passes and early access - those will likely be the only 2 days we spend there really.
It'll be packed out the week before & easter weekend sadly, but we 'll get 2 full days at Disney where it looks like it'll be really quiet at the end, and 1 day when we first get there.

We'll probably do some early mornings at whatever park looks to be decent throughout, but largely leave when the crowds build - go to water parks if its warm enough (should be) and get plenty rest between the park hours.

Which hotel did you book in the end near Disney?

Just booked up to go after a successful trip to DW Paris. May 2026.

Stopping in Universal Endless Summer Resort, 2 weeks with Universal and Disney Passes.

Looking forward to it now, never really fancied it beforehand.

Park tickets just finally been released by ATD the knobs. They’ve thrown in magic bands for the inconvenience. Failed miserably to get BBB for daughter, £148 phone bill as wife rang twice the mad bugger. I’ve been just using vpn and Disney site. Now waiting on 30 day window to attempt to get a cancellation as apparently a lot of Americans cancel at 30’days as they can’t afford to pay their balance for trip.

Aye we used a VPN when we booked BBB, Mickeys Halloween thing and a few character breakfasts. We walked past the BBB on a few different days and they had a sign outside saying there was space, I know thats not ideal taking a chance mind

Been told to try from 30 days till we go. I’m hoping we get in. If we don’t I’ve character breakfast and be our guest booked to try soften the blow for the daughter who’ll be dressed as belle. I’ve no idea how to soften the blow of test track being closed. When we there.

Heading out the start of may. Can’t wait to be fair. Had been so many years between visits that I fully caught the Disney bug again. We’ve planned on not going back till 2028 now when most of the renovations should be complete and epic universe hype died a bit.
