Women & Girls cricket

Attendance records broken in 7 out of the 8 grounds this year for the women’s hundred

Moving in the right direction

I’d like to see some double headers next season at Durham, think that set up has been the difference in the hundred compared to other tournaments does feel like they are one squad

Good signing, but id imagine quite a few more or Northern Diamonds will fill out the squad

Odd looks like theyve taken it down already

been watching a few with the bairn on youtube, felt sorry for he in the England series where they had it won and still she carried the drinks in the last game
They did scenarios in a series were players would be injured or food posioning and unavailable, and they replaced Knight with NSB, and Ecclestone got left out. But they didn't leave Jones out at all and used Bess
These are my favs

2 other England cricketers to follow according to Cricketer newsletter.
"She will and Lizzie Scott, whose arrivals have already been announced. The Cricketer understands that Heath's fellow England players, Lauren Filer and Mady Villiers, are also expected to sign with Durham."
I've watched a little Women's cricket and it certainly resembles traditional cricket more than that abomination The Men's Hundred.
Skill on display rather than solely brute strength.

Wow, they would be excellent additions

I’ve found myself preferring it in the hundred. Closer battle between bat and ball

Mady would be a good signing, not in the England fold much these days
thats why armitage was great singing, on the fringe of things with England but probably one of the best domestic players that want be gone all the time , Heath the same as she wont get in until Amy Jones is injured or dropped

aye it’s not good seeing the tv numbers drop that much, but live attendances have gone up for both the hundred and the England team, not so much at CLS though 🤷🏻‍♂️

The women’s competition dropped by 41 percent on Sky and the men’s tournament 28 percent compared to 2023. 41%....!!!!!!!!!.

41% down on viewing figures.
Yet attendances in person up. So thats good more money and proves that tv coverage leads to more wanting to actually attend and pay money.

So job done. Rather have 22000 in the ground and zero tv watchers.

Don't get your point here.

Let's be honest they're turning up for the mens game. Put the women's game on by itself and see how the attendances are.

This new tier one system would surely be some cheap sport to pick up, but no doubt if any of it is on tv it’s on sky, doubt we will get double headers on sky either, sky hardly even show blast games now
