There's nothing wrong with Ekwahs passing imo. Neil's biggest weakness is getting caught in possession in dangerous positions. Was listening to one of the podcasts the other night and apparently he was the worst centre midfielder stat wise in the league for getting caught in position and the turnover leading directly to a goal.
That doesn't surprise me re Neil if that stat is true. Getting caught in possession in our defensive third happens too often with him when he plays in the defensive role and happened a couple of times on Saturday as well.

He was awful on Saturday. Way off it.

I think there's only about a month in it, but Neil has about 3 times as many appearances having established himself for us in League 1.
Aye just checked ,Ekwah is never described as a youngin I have noticed. So people will say Neil is just learning but dont say that about Ekwah.

After about 3 minutes, he lost it, then fouled trying to get it back, near the edge of our box, giving away a free kick.

I don't think playing defensive midfield is going to help him either.
Somebody's gotta do it.

As I said the other week, we've got three 8s in Neil, Ekwah and Browne, and no obvious 4s or 6s.

Yeah, it's a bit odd. Same with Ba who's only 20. They never seem to get the slack others do.

And they were very noticeable, he looked like he was still on his holidays for the first 15 minutes or so. He did a lot of good work defensively and moving the ball during the rest of the game though if you don't focus purely on negatives.

Ekwah looked like the very definition of a number 6 yesterday.

Rumours and speculation surfaced online this week stating that Clarke had signed a new two-year deal at Sunderland this summer. However, The Echo has learned that this claim is false with the player and club remaining at an impasse when it comes to contract negotiations.

Echo disputing you @skunk hater
