That was last season apparently, sure it got mentioned on WMS pod the other night. Something that he needs to improve quickly if he's going to be playing in that DM position all season.Somewhat sadly, that doesn't surprise me at all.
I think Poveda was announced the next day the OP said we signed him.You usually hear quite close to announcements too don’t you? Get in!
Wouldn’t bother me.... until JC leaves on a free in 3 years lol
I think there's only about a month in it, but Neil has about 3 times as many appearances having established himself for us in League 1.Year older than Pierre ,so he is still learning too
That doesn't surprise me re Neil if that stat is true. Getting caught in possession in our defensive third happens too often with him when he plays in the defensive role and happened a couple of times on Saturday as well. There's nothing wrong with Ekwahs passing imo. Neil's biggest weakness is getting caught in possession in dangerous positions. Was listening to one of the podcasts the other night and apparently he was the worst centre midfielder stat wise in the league for getting caught in position and the turnover leading directly to a goal.
He was awful on Saturday. Way off it.That doesn't surprise me re Neil if that stat is true. Getting caught in possession in our defensive third happens too often with him when he plays in the defensive role and happened a couple of times on Saturday as well.
I worry about the weight of the armband on him like. I don't think he needs it.He was awful on Saturday. Way off it.
I don't think playing defensive midfield is going to help him either.I worry about the weight of the armband on him like. I don't think he needs it.
Awful is a bit strong. His passing was much poorer than normal but he was pretty strong defensively and no major errors. He was awful on Saturday. Way off it.
Aye just checked ,Ekwah is never described as a youngin I have noticed. So people will say Neil is just learning but dont say that about Ekwah.I think there's only about a month in it, but Neil has about 3 times as many appearances having established himself for us in League 1.
After about 3 minutes, he lost it, then fouled trying to get it back, near the edge of our box, giving away a free kick. That doesn't surprise me re Neil if that stat is true. Getting caught in possession in our defensive third happens too often with him when he plays in the defensive role and happened a couple of times on Saturday as well.
Caught in possession a few times but we survivedAwful is a bit strong. His passing was much poorer than normal but he was pretty strong defensively and no major errors.
What does this have to do with us not signing a striker like?but....but...a striker etc
Somebody's gotta do it.I don't think playing defensive midfield is going to help him either.
Yeah, it's a bit odd. Same with Ba who's only 20. They never seem to get the slack others do.Aye just checked ,Ekwah is never described as a youngin I have noticed. So people will say Neil is just learning but dont say that about Ekwah.
And they were very noticeable, he looked like he was still on his holidays for the first 15 minutes or so. He did a lot of good work defensively and moving the ball during the rest of the game though if you don't focus purely on negatives. After about 3 minutes, he lost it, then fouled trying to get it back, near the edge of our box, giving away a free kick.
Ekwah looked like the very definition of a number 6 yesterday.Somebody's gotta do it.
As I said the other week, we've got three 8s in Neil, Ekwah and Browne, and no obvious 4s or 6s.
Yeah, it's a bit odd. Same with Ba who's only 20. They never seem to get the slack others do.
Did the Echo break the Poveda story?Rumours and speculation surfaced online this week stating that Clarke had signed a new two-year deal at Sunderland this summer. However, The Echo has learned that this claim is false with the player and club remaining at an impasse when it comes to contract negotiations.
Echo disputing you @skunk hater
