Browne, Neil and Jobe

Adil is quicker and would be further up the field to where Jobe would/could be. He also makes sure the ball goes foward, whilst Jobe passes it backwards or sideways, which is counterproductive to the press as it breaks down.

Jobe will be a good player in time, but he's not quick enough to play in a high press over Adil or Rigg. He's probably best suited to being up front while there's no striker.
Fair enough we disagree then. As I said adilbiscfront footed do I do agree about him passing forwards , however he doesn’t press when we haven’t got the ball so , if pressing is the tactic , Jobe will be ahead of him imo anyway.

We will have to disagree as I think in the limited opportunities Adil has had, he's pressed more than Jobe has who (I think) looks very lethargic at times for a lad who's not long turned 18.

Anyway, I hope Adil gets more game time this season and I also hope Jobe kicks on as we're gonna need everyone to bring their best.

Looks like that is the 3 in midfield as it stands. We still looked a bit vulnerable on the counter attack through the middle. If we bring in a DM one of them misses out and it would be Jobe for me. Unless we go 3 4 3. Or could play Jobe deeper? Thoughts?
Jobe should be nowhere near first team
I think Rigg is very unlucky to miss out on a start on the opening day but that's the 3 I'd go with. Rigg will make 40+ appearances if he stays fit anyway so I'm not worried about it.

Hopefully we see us press like we did yesterday and for the first half at Blackpool.
Agree rigg over jobe every week

I don't think we need a DCM. Our real issue, last season, wasn't that we conceded a lot, it's that we didn't score enough. Fix CF and a CDM is less of an issue, especially if Cirkin and Alese stay fit as any four of Hume, O9, Ballard, Alese and Cirkin is a pretty good back four.
Mayenda is gunna be scoring double figures no need to worry

You’d be annoyed if you were AA or Ba behind jobe

Jobe is so limited and slow it’s painful to watch. I’d start at the weekend with Auchiche at 10 and Browne and Neil behind but it won’t happen

Isn't AA linked with a move away? I can see Jobe pushed up top with Rigg Brown and Neil in the midfield 3.

RLB came out and said last week that he sees Jobe playing on the left side of the 3 in CM.

He may have thought (like the rest of us) that he'd have a striker in when he made those comments.
I never heard them comments so fair enough.

I bet he certainly would have expected one in by now. I think we all did TBH

Haway RLB! That’s where I think he makes most sense

I'm still struggling to see what role fits him best tbh. I'm not sure he's got enough quick thinking to be in the middle of the park. I like how he can use both feet at times, so maybe the no.10, but again, I think his vision, and reaction time let him down last season. He scored more goals as a false 9 and with the limited options available, that's probably where I would put him.

I think he's got to knomuckle down tbh, as I'd expect RLB to be more ruthless in dropping him over Dodds ever was, and Rigg will be pushing for his name on the starting 11.

“He has the great potential to press because he is physical and strong and energetic. That part of the game he can be very strong. Then from this position as a number eight on the left he can create a relationship with Jack, for example, or Dennis. Of course they need experience together to improve that triangle but I think that it could be a good position for him.”

That was out of the Echo a week or two back.
