Browne, Neil and Jobe

BumbleBee

Striker
Looks like that is the 3 in midfield as it stands. We still looked a bit vulnerable on the counter attack through the middle. If we bring in a DM one of them misses out and it would be Jobe for me. Unless we go 3 4 3. Or could play Jobe deeper? Thoughts?

Or being caught in possession!

I think jobes best position is the 10. Browne seems to play there too, and neil is better further forward than he played yesterday. Ekwah isnt good as a holding midfielder and we seem determined not to sign one.

We're basically playing a formation with two gaping holes (CDM & CF) in it.

We're not bringing in a DCM as Jobe would have to miss out. In my opinion, he's already behind Rigg and Adil anyway, but he'll start before either of those two do.
A DCM would be great to bring on at 75 minutes to help see out a 0-0 draw tho 😎

My thoughts are that Browne doesn't improve the first 11 and wasn't really the type of midfielder we needed. It would have been preferable, to me, not bring in Browne, maybe sell an attacking midfielder and bring in a proper cdm allowing Neil, Ekwah, Rigg and Jobe maybe Ba too, to play their natural game.

Wrong dynamics for me

This has been the issue since both Stewart and Evans were injured going in to the 2023 January transfer window. Mowbray was quoted that we needed replacements for both of them. Fast forward to now and still nothing has been done to address this, shocking really.

I think Browne improves the first XI but only barely, and really is just a replacement for Pritchard, and doesnt plug the hole we have.

Much like weve bought about 10 wingers, none of which stop us from needing a striker

I don't think we need a DCM. Our real issue, last season, wasn't that we conceded a lot, it's that we didn't score enough. Fix CF and a CDM is less of an issue, especially if Cirkin and Alese stay fit as any four of Hume, O9, Ballard, Alese and Cirkin is a pretty good back four.

A lot of teams cut straight through our midfield causing us to concede. A good DCM would have stopped a lot of those goals.

But Browne does seem to be exactly the sort of pressing midfield player that the manager needs. Watching him and Neil yesterday nipping at the heels of the Marseille players was very impressive. Jobe's weakness is probably that he doesn't know what to do with the ball when he gets it. Hopefully that will come with real striker ahead of him.

The style we are playing demands full-on running from the front 5 for the entire 90 minutes, and I think we'll see a lot more substitutions of the front five than the back 4 this season as Le Bris spots them tiring, he'll sub them to keep the press fresh.

Neither of those seem likely

Stop taking this post seriously when you said play Ba 😂😂😂😂
