Durham’s One Day Cup Campaign

McKinney Bushnell Jones bas one of the strongest?
See post 7. Most sides missing a lot of players so a bunch of youth players selected.

We're definitely weaker than last year without Clark and Bedders. But Ackermann I think will have a great campaign as will Lees again.

I think your undervaluing Jones and De Leede. Pretty sure the latter has a good record in the format for us albeit opening.

Can't remember but think De Leede was away with Netherlands last year and nearly all of his List A cricket has been ODI cricket.

McKinney and Bushnell didn't have a great campaign last year.

Was considering going to Sedbergh Wednesday but it would mean a 6 hour round trip so I’m going to Grace Road instead to watch Leics v Notts. I’ll be keeping an eye on the Durham result.

The batting lineup yesterday was pretty odd is has to be said, I’m assuming it was just experimental though.

Lees and Jones should open come the real stuff.

I quite like the idea of Borthwick at 3 then gave McKinney and Bushnell coming in with De Leede 6.

As others have said, I do think we should have a pretty solid batting lineup.

Where would you have Ackermann batting?

What about Ackerman?-he's available so surely will be used.DeLeede is a walking wicket at 3 when the ball is doing a bit.
So
Lees
Jones
Borthwick
Ackerman
McKinney
Bushnell
DeLeede
Mustard
Raine
Coughlin
Gibson/McAlinden/Hogg/Glover.

McKinney struggled batting in the middle order last year. Jones already batted middle order last year.

I reckon he'll put McKinney to open to try and to try and get more out of him. Then Jones at 5.

De Leede will bat 6, he batted at 5 the one game he did play last season(Bushnell 6). Bushnell batted mainly 6 so will drop to 7 I reckon.

I too will be at Leicester Friday, it is Warwickshire the opponents though. We are then gonna make the trip over to Worcester for our game Sunday and make a weekend of it!

Apparently they don't want all the experienced players at the top of the order and want to persist with Jones as the "finisher"

I would give Ben Raine a rest. He has played a lot of cricket and he looks to me he is carrying a niggle. He went off for treatment during the last championship match and was off for 46 mins or so. Never seen Ben do that before

They have played plenty t20s since so he can't be that bad

It’s a much weaker potential line up than the very good run to the final. Which was largely Lees, Clark and Bedders scoring boat loads of runs bar failing in the final v Glamorgan but it’s now very much a second tier competition.
