How do people think we’ll get on?

I saw something the other day - which I can’t for the life of me find now 🤦‍♂️ - that listed the counties and how many players they’d have missing due to the internationals and the crisp packet tournament. We have 6 missing, which is in the ‘lower tranche’ of the 18 counties. Some of the counties that play at a franchise ground are in the double figures, whilst some of the less fashionable counties only have 2/3 missing.

I think ultimately it’s so sad that success in this competition is going to end up being largely determined (hindered) by how successful a team has been at producing and nurturing talent for the national team and moreover, for T20 cricket. By doing things the right way for years, counties will in essence have largely ruined their chances of doing well in the One Day Cup. Which is frankly, batshit crazy.

That we’ll (only) be missing 6 should mean we can be competitive at the very least and if a couple of the fringe players/youngsters can announce themselves onto the national stage then we could quite easily end up qualifying for the knockout stages.

Won't see any of this as im away till September but interested to see which youngsters get a go.
Mentioned him the other day on the 2ndXl thread but keep an eye on James Minto only 16 but looked Durhams best bowler and apparently bats as well.
Cambo also named him as a potential starter in the 50 over comp in his post match interview at Derby.

Campbell eluded in his post match interview that he would be using younger players in this competition
I think it was this competition that gave potts, carse and coughlin their first chance at first team cricket

I posted this the other day. But imagine our team will look like the below and included all available options I knew we had.

Hearing Campbell interview last night saying he really wants to win it. I suspect we will try to be as strong as the below for 10/11 players.

He did name check Hogg and Minto so expect we will see both at some point. I didn't know Minto so haven't included him below.

Lees
Jones
Borthwick
Ackermann
McKinney
De Leede
Mustard
Raine

It might have been mentioned on another thread but is Drissell injured? He hasn't been in any of the recent T20 squads and didn't play in any of the 50over warm ups the past week. If he is we might even see a return of Borthwick's leggies

Drissell has an ankle injury but no time frame has been given for recovery.

Looks a strong lineup to be fair, is Parky not available? I thought he’d missed out on a crisp packet contract?

With Northern Suoerchargers. You ask me to post a list of players not available for the RL50 then don't read it 🤔

I’ll consider myself severely reprimanded…

On that topic, it says 7 for us and not 6, but given Wood wasn’t included in the list and Stokes was, despite still being under contract with us, that’s not a completely comprehensive list. David Bedingham wasn’t mentioned either, so we’ll have 9 missing.

Yeh,but the list was of those who aren't available because of having Hundred contracts. Woody hasn't a Hundred contract.
Good thing about Bedders is he should be available for the T20 Q/F

I know, but my initial post mentioned internationals aswell as the crisp packet cup. It doesn’t matter why they’re missing, if they’re missing.

IMO we'll be one of the strongest batting outfits in the tournament but will be lightweight in the spin department, especially with a young lad behind the stumps.
