For 90 minutes they’re non-stop massive supporters, which is difficult to do when you’re getting beat. Some of the performances we’ve turned in this season I could barely be arsed to stand up.

The flip side is that the players know they’ll get backed, but they’ll be told when it’s not good enough either. Examples of fans going on the pitch and telling the players etc.

Sunderland just doesn’t have that sort of culture.

You know my thoughts on it P mate, each to their own, but u can shove that ultras bolloxks up yr arse for me it's not British culture it's foreign. We've got one of the greatest fan bases in country for plenty other reasons and atmospheres we've created generically bare testimony to the that. I appreciated the hard work so37 put in obviously as I know how hard u worked and the displays were good.. but as you know I personally can't stand the ultra culture in the British game. The arsenal and palace ultras u see on twitter etc actually make me wanna burn my eyes out.

Bang on mate. It's cringey as fuck. So, @DonaldDownTheWing wants a culture of our fans going onto the pitch to confront players if they aren't doing well?? I did read that and didn't just dream it??

The rail seating area should be ringfenced for a group like Union FS at Leicester. It would help reign in the Burberry scarf brigade too. It won't be though and we'll just have the current arrangement up there but with added metal railings.

Completely agree mate. Added to that going to grounds which have a drum - completely removes any form of atmosphere rather than helping it. Just a constant drone of a noise which generally - as an away fan - you have no real means of responding to.

Likewise some guy on a megaphone not even watching the game. Just not our culture and personally speaking wouldn't want it to be.

someone said that the way Europeans do it is just accepting shite by singing etc when they’re getting beat. I was pointing out an example of how they don’t.

This is painful.

Chants do start in the north stand, not loads, but they do. Problem is the sound doesn't carry well in the stadium. By the time the north stand picks up what is being sung in the south, it's usually too late. Sometimes we can hardly hear it as we have the away fans singing right above us.....but I guess I can just piss off

A lot of it is down to the acoustics (or lack of them) in the stadium. When I had my ST in the North Upper, all you could ever hear were the North Stand and North Upper, it was very rare to here anything from the SWC so I am not surprised people there can't hear anything from the North.

Well, why mention it then?...unless that's the way you want our fans to behave as those naughty ultras do in Europe?? What is painful, is, you wanting a drum and some fucker on a megaphone shouting with no top on facing the crowd and not even watching the game... :lol:

Some of the best atmospheres I heard at Sunderland were when we were in the swc to be fair moving the away fans started it.

The fact away fans bring loads to the game look at the old firm atmospheres they are good but not as good as they were.

A used to love getting called a fat bastard or have mags threatening to slit my throat.

The atmosphere is going due to modern football and away fans being moved.

Close to about 40 and it’s aquascutum scarfs not Burberry 👀 they can’t afford the Burberry ones
