The Spirit Of 37 - Upcoming displays

And those that do try are ridiculed by a majority of the fan base.

Since I’ve had a ST in 2010, I doubt more than 5 chants have started away from the South and SWC.

I think the atmosphere is wank but I’ve done summit to try and help. Anyone in the east, west and north can piss off for me. Prawn sarnie munchers.
..so my fatha, who has sat in the north west since sol opened and been going to watch sunderland since the 60's "can piss off"...who the fuck do you think you are??

"Anyone in the east, west and north can piss off"...doesn't suggest that at all. No the wonder the club fucked him off, if that's the way he goes on.

fair enough, thats not how i read it. the discussion is about the south stand, the atmosphere and why some people feel the need to criticise those who try and start chants off. its a common theme on here 'the south stand is crap, quiet, doesn't make any noise, full of kids etc..' .. usually said by a ST holder who adds zero to the match day atmosphere

Fuck me you don't half like to slag the clubs fans. I always remember Sheff United away and because some fans had the audacity not to sing because you were, you wanted them purged.

And now you've done the same again, only this time against probably 20-25 thousand Sunderland fans .

You were given the benefit of the doubt from many on here for some reason regarding the purging at Sheff United . But honestly, you're coming across as an utter knacker. Guess I've got to piss off because I don't sing my heart out for the lads.

I saw the people setting up the trial run of flags etc at Safc lasses v Charlton. I thought ''bless them but they will get stick and no help" Women in their 60's or older.
Didnt know that and no disrespect at all intended to them. A just think we had a good thing and we wont get it back.

I've sat in the north stand for 10 seasons, prior to that premier concourse / SW corner.

Chants do start in the north stand, not loads, but they do. Problem is the sound doesn't carry well in the stadium. By the time the north stand picks up what is being sung in the south, it's usually too late. Sometimes we can hardly hear it as we have the away fans singing right above us.....but I guess I can just piss off

I know what the debate is about..he then flipped it and said the rest of the ground can piss off. Got a very high opinion of himself that lad.

I think he means piss off if they are having a go at the south stand or the lack of atmosphere

He may well mean that, but I suspect not as he's wanted fans purged for not singing before .

Thing is, there's very few that in his words ridicule people for trying to bring a good atmosphere. In fact I can't recall too many. It's when people from other stands say they can't hear a peep from the south stand they go all defensive. I barely hear them from the North, it's most likely due to sound travel being absolutely shite in the ground. It's not to say they aren't being loud, they just aren't heard.

There's some right sensitive fuckers in the south stand when it comes to atmosphere

Who is he to dictate to people what they should do in any part if the ground? My fathas gt dodgy knees and is 65....does he think he's gonna be jumping about singing for 90 mins??

..like when he slated our fans down Sheff Utd on here during the game..telling people to sing and giving them grief. Sounds a tosser tbh.

Got nee opinion of myself, we failed at what we tried to do so I’m clearly not very good at it.

My comment was about people who complain about the atmosphere whilst doing nothing to try and help, but I suspect you knew that.

No, you didn't post that. You said "people in the east, north and west can piss off".

Its exactly that. I've said the same in a previous post. When i sat in the North Stand i couldnt hear the South Stand, now i sit in the SWC i cant not only not hear the North Stand but cant hear what are supposed to be noisy away fans like Boro, Leeds, Sheff Wed. The accoustics in the stadium are shit.

People need to stop crying over the north stand being the home end.
It’s not gonna happen anytime soon if ever.
Like certain posters are stuck on repeat about it.
If that's the case what's the point in discussing anything? People want KLD and Speakman to go and its 95% of the content on here but that also isn't going to happen anytime soon either.
If we're serious about the atmosphere at home it will not change until away fans are moved. The 'work' involved would simply be to put the away fans where they used to be and give the fans there now an incentive to move in the ground. Some simple marketing and communication with our fans could see it implemented by the season after next. The club have every means necessary to do so and it's nowhere near as difficult as you're making out. If anything the away fans in the South Stand is far, far easier for the club to manage than where they are now
