Seeing them at the Brudenell next Saturday, have W.H.Lung (in Sheffield tomorrow), Kid Kapichi (at Leeds Met on Monday) and gnoomes (Wharf Chambers, Thursday) to see before then.

Fantastic band.

Went to the thing at the city hall today. It was absolutely shite. Futureheads were good obviously, everything else was pretty poor and it was dreadfully organised.

As predicted earlier, £20 wasn't worth it imo.

Futureheads saved the day, class as always, everything else was mediocre, tbh only went to see the futureheads. Bar was a bit ridiculous, ran out of double maxim by 7.30, had a guiness, watched a couple of so called comedians, went back to bar no guiness left, went on madri and there was none of that left by the time futureheads came on. Imo finished a little late for people using public transport. I would go again depending on whatever bands are on and I think they may improve things. Still enjoyed the night though.

Beer situation was ridiculous- Madri urgh. The other 2 acts in the main hall were rubbish- let’s not have quiet sensitive singer songwriters in a crowd who want a drink and a chat. Didn’t get near the comedy room because it was too full. Still my good friend got me and Mrs Devoto on the guest list so the Futureheads for free was a great night.

Aye madri would never be my first choice, but tbh ill drink anything bar wine and spirits, probably stems from u normally dont have much choice at gigs as I go to quite a few. Didnt miss much in comedy room, first 2 were pretty poor, 3rd guy was ok, what baffles me as some people laugh at owt, or maybe me turning into a grumpy old man 😂.

Went to see John Lydon do a talk in at Whitley Bay a while ago. The fella behind me belly laughed through it all. Half of it wasn’t jokes. He was desperate to be noticed.

Aye the first bloke was pretty poor. I just walked out at his 'sunderland is depressing' crack.

Thought the first band, lotti willis? Was ok but then to switch to a timid lass on her own who then complained people were making noise because 'its scary on stage' whilst she sang songs about her boyfriends cheating on her was a real downer.

The bar situation waa abysmal and for the futureheads to ask we applaud the organisers after taking the piss that nobody had any drinks was a bit much.

Hopefully they learn off their mistakes, and if there is another one there should be a vast improvement. Tbh the amount of money they must have lost due to running out of drinks, I probably would have hung about after the futureheads fo a couple more.

Aye thats fine, but i can tell you it didn't come across as witty because i heard a few people comment on it.

no offense to your mates bairn, its kind of like mason burstow or michael beale, not their fault but she should have played first then lotti or have played in the brew bake area. A quiet lass on her own wasn't hyping the crowd up for futureheads.
