Craft Beer

Traditional suppers might not even call them straight up. Especially 11%ers. I've rarely gone near the daft overkill stuff tbh. Remember Playbrew doing a few types that put me off.

I think some see craft beer referencing say strawberry and think it's going to like having a strawberry yoghurt, when in fact some would struggle to even pick the strawberry out.

Always loved NEIPA style, and still do, but cant whack a good west coast when its needed.

Not my thing at all them as they are all about sours.
Aye, 11%ers, but I’m talking more about straight forward brews rather than hoying in daft adjuncts. Stuff like Amundsen I’ll just not bother with these days.

When they do stouts they do them very very well like. If I see a Vault City stout I’ll get it, but aye, they’re the sour brewery.
Aye, we’re both definitely right. 😁

They do some cracking big stouts as well…also batshit crazy mind.
I don’t know if they’re batshit mental, but just very good. The Mars Bar one, amazing, but it was just chocolate with a bit caramels in there. Nowt extravagant, but if I told me dad I was drinking a Mars Bar stout he’d think the world had fallen apart.

Yup. I've had a couple of the stouts. Loved the hard hitting ginger bread offering. Think it was 16%. Perhaps that's the key fpr me, if they are going sweet, balance it out with the very high abv.

I went in there once after a gig at the castlefield bowl…I was pissed but I remember thinking it was a really good place. I had a verdant so it can’t be bad.
Cheers. From Internet noseying it seems decent. Got a couple of more trips in coming months so looking for a few different options. One of trips I will mainly just taproom it but another putting three or four pubs together that aren't too far from one another. Cask is added to the list.

Two non Guinness yesterday. Woke up with grazes all owa me napper. Might have fell owa.

Only place I’ve heard of having it in. Was surprised to see it in Asda the other day, was aware it had hit the market properly over here yet.

Got to say like, I’m turning more & more to solid picks rather than random stuff now. Stuff like Jakehead, I now pick one up everytime I pass Rehills. Black Wave & Stormy Petrel, I built up a decent stash of those.
The Beer Drop in Low Fell had Forged on as well. They rotate stouts so I missed it but coming back on.

Tie it in with a pint in the Britons Protection, it's just around the corner. Vocation have a taproom a stones throw from there as well. Peveril of the Peak too (think this has already been recommended).
This thread makes me realise I'd not done my research properly before previous visits. Spent too much time in the NQ it seems. Absolutely boatload to choose from. Thanks for the info.

If you’re in that area for Peveril etc. then you might as well go up the road for the North Brew taproom as well :)
