Forthcoming gigs.

You reckon it's a yes? Be a decent outlay with flights and board and tix went on sale a couple of ours ago, so would probs have to act fairly quick...but now you've gone and dangled the carrot of potential Brian action (though they didn't come over with that lineup last time), Ugh...
The Brian James thing was mentioned i think on Captains Twitter feed a few weeks ago..they’ll have done ok financially out of it so a few more quid in the retirement pot will do nicely for them.
Still contemplating Slalom D at Pop Recs tonight..it’s the shit weather putting me off..☔

Things looking good between now and summer

Halina Rice
Baxter Dury
Springsteen
Gary Numan

Still hoping to find a ticket for the Vaseline’s sold out gig.

Kaiser Chiefs album launch gig on Monday at Manchester Academy 2 which is small (ish) and surprisingly not sold out. It's always difficult to know what to expect with this type of gig but I will be happy with the same setlist as Leeds on Friday night and for £15 plus fees as it will be a bargain.

Just got tickets for Calexico in July. Driving to Pistoia in Tuscany to see them. So we'll enjoy a week there and have a day or two somewhere in the South of France on the way down and a couple of days in the Alps on the way back.
What a trip.
My evening at the Hippodrome in darlo to see Smokie last night sounds shit in comparison :D

Got tickets for Halina Rice then realised I'm away that weekend. Useless.

My mate has a spare ticket for Meatraffle in Newcastle during the week so going along to that.

Our lass saw the Mary Wallopers on Jools Holland at New Year so she got tickets to see them, I think that's next week.

I saw Meatraffle at Cluny 2 couple of years back and really enjoyed them.
I’ve yet to go to a gig at zerox but will try to make it down for them also

The 1980 line up are playing Newcastle NX in December..got my ticket..i was at both London original line up gigs in 2022..the gig at Newcastle NX last Easter was fantastic..apparently Dave and Captain have been saying they’re in contact with Brian James about some more original line up shows but nothing has come of it yet.
Always rumours about rat and brian but never seems to happen, massive fall out with rat

That was ages ago..the original line up played together in October 2022 and Rat and Captain have kissed and made up..the current line up is..Vanian..Captain..Rat and Paul Gray..same line up as in 1980.

Slow start to the year for us but finally getting moving next week with LJG. Some others on the books for the upcoming weeks/months

Laura Jane Grace (NYC)
Sleater-Kinney (NYC)
Adam Ant / The (English) Beat  Why not - never seen either and they're playing local NJ
Jesus Jones - another local NJ one, small bar in Asbury Pk
Katie Malco (NYC)
Decemberists (NYC)
Echo & the Bunnymen (Philly) - Songs to Learn and Sing tour
Miki Berenyi Trio / Lol Tolhurst and Budgie (NYC)
PJ Harvey (NYC)
Frank Turner - 4 nights in Toronto

@Cheesy Feet - Damned are touring with Rat and Paul Gray but bizarrely not playing in NYC / AP / Philly - thinking about going to see them in Chicago as it's a w/e when I could also squeeze in a Frank Turner show. Is it a "special" lineup that's worth making the trip for, given that it's not with Brian and we saw the Monty / Pinch lineup fairly recently when they played most of the stuff you'd want to hear.

Oh, and Marc Maron standup, if that counts on here
Almost missed a show
Apparently we're going to see Alkaline Trio / Drug Church / Worriers, in Philly, on Wednesday - fans of A3 and Worriers, but not familiar with Drug Church's work
Anyone going to see Pixies in the next few weeks, they just announced that Paz has left - new bass player starts at the Dublin show on Friday. They certainly struggle with keeping that female bass player slot filled (Emma Ricardson from Band of Skulls is the newbie)

Haven’t posted in here for a while - went to see the libertines do one of these “acoustic” afternoon shows in Glasgow the other week. Genuinely one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to.

Got tickets in the pre-sale yesterday for Stevie Nicks in Hyde Park in July. Now need to figure out the logistics. Hoping for some decent support as well with it being British Summertime Live, but a bit worried it’ll be the pretenders again after the last Fleetwood Mac tour

Well she did do 10 years! From her statement and the timing, sounds as if something odd has gone on.

I had to travel in our lass's car last night and managed to not be able to find the bloody thing after the gig. It took about an extra 45 minutes walking and 7,000 steps around a less than salubrious part of Manchester to locate the car.
