Forthcoming gigs.

yeah, you're right, she had a decent stint tbf :D , I just mean relative to the rest of them, it's the only changing slot and this'll be #4. Didn't see what she said ...? Theirs was just a very generic "to pursue other interests"
It was her comment that......My departure is a bit of a surprise to me as it is to many, but it looks like they have a solid plan figured out which in turn has pushed me to move onwards onto new projects that I am excited about.”.....which sounds like something amiss.
Katie Puckrick on vocals just seems bizarre.

The Brian James thing was mentioned i think on Captains Twitter feed a few weeks ago..they’ll have done ok financially out of it so a few more quid in the retirement pot will do nicely for them.
Still contemplating Slalom D at Pop Recs tonight..it’s the shit weather putting me off..☔
They announced an NYC show on Monday so I picked up tix on presale last night - happy days!

Almost missed a show

Anyone going to see Pixies in the next few weeks, they just announced that Paz has left - new bass player starts at the Dublin show on Friday. They certainly struggle with keeping that female bass player slot filled (Emma Ricardson from Band of Skulls is the newbie)
Although I posted a response to this post, I actually forgot until today that I have a ticket for Pixies in Manchester next Thursday. I absolutely can't remember buying it.

It begs a thread named 'Missed or Almost missed a show'.

I'm off to see Lizz Wright next Friday (raw sex in a voice!)
My cheap earlybird tickets for the Black Deer Festival in June just paid a huge dividend as they have announced Joe Bonamassa as headliner. Sheryl Crow, Seasick Steve etc. too.
Also the kid who lives across the street gets his first festival gig as a solo act!

Just back from the ‘Lust for Life’ show in North Shields..fantastic..loads of Iggy (obviously) and a rousing rendition of Pretty Vacant and Search and Destroy to finish.

3 great bands last night. I’m usually disappointed by Alkaline Trio live - the mix is always poor and you often can’t hear the vocals - but they were excellent last night, best I’ve heard them. Worriers were great as first band on, but sadly we missed the first few songs after a horrible drive to Philly in bad weather. Drug Church, I had no knowledge going in, but they were fascinating to watch - tighter than a gnat’s chuff first off, but the singer / shouter was very engaging as well. Not my usual vibe (hardcore / post hardcore) but was glued the whole time
