24 Hours in police custody

Not just coppers, professional office staff are now just wearing jeans and t-shirts/jumpers. Unshaven and unkempt, looks slovenly. People don’t seem to show any pride in their work appearance. Probably another consequence of lockdown
Aye people seem to think this is some how progressive but just a load of nonsense really. Copper with the mohican looked an unprofessional joke.

"...looked an unprofessional joke." If you look back at poor policing over time how many officers had Mohicans? In the "good old days" a short back & sides didn't make all police officers the epitome of professional conduct.

An older relative believes that nurses were better nurses because they wore bits of material on their head. Male nurses never wore hats, did that make them poor practitioners?

It's how you carry out your professional duties that's important.

17 1/2 years now, not the job it used to be

Id dread going in every day.

Weirdly the (female) doctor ended up prefering helping folk inside than going to toffs dinner parties, really changed her.
People stuck in the past I see.
Folk arent going to agree on this one imho.

Personally thought it looked rediculous and out of place.

Like I said people think that's progressive it isn't, people in certain roles should look professional and think about what they are representing. People make the same excuses for being out of shape or not following good hygiene etc.

Same with the prison service, we’ve had lads/lasses who are 18/19 joining with no life skills and can’t talk to prisoners but great on a computer 🤦‍♂️ trying to tell a seasoned criminal to get behind his door when he’s done more jail than there age doesn’t bode well and they aren’t gaining the respect, system is fooked
I'm ex Army, 50+, 18
stone, I did have a think about the prison service when I got out 20 yrs ago, to be honest it terrifies me, you've gotta be naive to go into it surely🤔
