Ross Stewart

It would be interesting to know how the payments are structured, or whether we got the lot up front. One things for sure 'what happened to the Stewart money' will be the stick Speakman gets beaten with in January.

People keep banging on about £10m but that was with add ons wasn't it?

We sold him with about 10 minutes to go before the transfer window closed, how exactly did you expect us to replace him, not even taking into account he hasn’t played for about 9 months so we weren’t replacing a first team player?
So you can pre-empt a player moving and buy his replacement(s) beforehand? It’s called good planning and it’s what all the well ran clubs do - don’t let your players leave until an adequate replacement is through the door first.

A huge shame for the lad. He was a fantastic player for us and played a huge part in getting us out of that God forsaken league.

I guess the only thing is knowing exactly what money they'd get - the deal apparently changed slightly on the day?- but generally agree they should be playing although for all we know those strikers were the plan.

Gutted for him tbf. We'd still be in League 1 of it wasn't for him. I hope that he overcomes his problems and returns as the player that we had because he was fantastic for us

We had no idea if anyone would even sign him. In an ideal world he would have been sold early in the window or had talks with a buyer in advance to know what sort of fee they'd be look at. Because of his injury we were unfortunately left in limbo until the last min when Southampton took a gamble.
West ham didn't have a replacement in for rice, villa didn't when grealish went, spurs didn't when selling kane etc

I predicted this to my mate a massive Saints fan. I said he will either get you promoted and bag 20 + goals or your gonna be paying him a bag full of cash to sit on the treatment table. Sadly I don't think he will ever be at the same level he was with us.

100%. Take no joy in seeing him injured. Hope he's back and scoring goals next season (just not against us). Deserves a great reception if he ever plays again at the SoL.

Awful news for the lad. Looking at it cynically we’ve sold him at the right time considering. And I think that’s widely accepted, it’s not replacing him that’s the problem.

The most overrated player on here in history just because he had a Charlie Wyke season in L1 and had a good first 10 games or so in the championship

Will be playing for Motherwell in a couple of year to think some though he was PL class and worth over 20m 😳🤣
Here marra.
