Ross Stewart

Think it's been 3 diff injuries in 24 months.
Horrific mentally for him, poor lad.
Would have liked to see him in the prem as I think he could have been ok there.
He’s still young enough to come back. Probably good that it’s different injuries and maybe just rotten luck. Perhaps Southampton have decided to take it really slowly and get carefully managed pre season into him. 🤞

Yeah - the seasons a right off- concentrate on taking it slow. Having this time out hopefully his career will be prolonged and he will come back just as sharp.

Gutted for him, he will be in a low place at the moment. The lad was incredible for us in the promotion season

Some things don’t change:

He needs to harded the fuck up, get a bit of leather between his teeth and a couple of painkiller jabs....

*the soft Scottish twat 🙄

Feel sorry for the lad, he did a great job here and anyone else would’ve moved for x 3 wages, all well and good we got big money for him, only problem is we’ve signed 4 strikers and they’ve got the same amount of goals as Stewart

We sold him with about 10 minutes to go before the transfer window closed, how exactly did you expect us to replace him, not even taking into account he hasn’t played for about 9 months so we weren’t replacing a first team player?
Did the bid come in 10 mins before the end of the window?

Of course not - the club knew about this weeks before and that’s what we used to pay for aouchiche, Rusyn and Pembele on deadline day. Problem is early signs are the 4 strikers we did sign just aren’t good enough

Just goes to show why he moved tbh. He clearly knew there was always going to be good contract on offer from Southampton. He had to sign it before there was any chance of a relapse.

Fair play, hopefully he plays again, but if he doesn't his contract should offer some good security.

And to all the posters who are moaning about how we didn't reinvest the money on another striker...

If there was a clear £10M ish replacement, who was proven and looked like he could score lots of goals AND stay fit...

Don't you think Southampton would have snapped them up instead of Stewart?

Fuck him... Funny as fuck this. Imagine if we offered him a new contract that he accepted
Howes it funny? He was brilliant for us and a decent bloke too. Fans are such pricks about ex players nowadays.
We had their pants down shams the owners won’t actually invest it in a competent striker.
How do you know that? There’s not been a chance to buy one since

Shame for the lad but imagine if we gambled on him coming back fit and helping us up this season and turning down the money even if he could leave on a free at the end of the season. You looked after your own interests Ross and nothing wrong with that. I'm just glad Sunderland done the same

It's worked out brilliant for us but let's not kid ourselves that this was some masterstroke by the club.
Stewart would have been gone regardless, crocked or not.
